Hate It with You
Alex Kane
My brothers say I have a tendency to obsess over things. What they call obsession, I call passion. When I first met Beth, I knew she was someone special. Someone I wanted to get to know. So when I heard she was interested in the vacant building next to my gym, the one that I own, I drew her up an excellent deal. I’ve basically given her the bookstore space and apartment above for practically nothing.
There’s only one problem, she doesn’t exactly know that I’m the owner. If she did, there’s no way she would’ve signed the lease. Though it’s hard to feel guilty when the sounds of her music blast through the bedroom wall we share each night, my apartment located right next to hers.
I was expecting her to be angry with me when she found out about my involvement. What I wasn’t expecting was the stalker that’s insistent on haunting her. She refuses to tell me who it is, continually pushing me away, but I’m not that easy to get rid of. I’ll be damned if I don’t do everything in my power to protect her.
Beth Rose
I hate him. I hate him. I hate him. More than that, I hate how alluring he is. How I can’t get him off my mind. I never should’ve signed a lease without knowing who the owner was but I don’t intend on making that mistake again. I’ll find a way to get out of this lease Alex has tricked me into.
That is, if I can figure out how to stop constantly looking over my shoulder. With so many threatening notes showing up at my door, Alex is the least of my worries. All of them written by the one man I was hoping to never see again. Alex is determined to get answers that I can’t provide without him getting hurt. Despite my disdain for the man, I can’t watch him be pulled into this. I can figure it out on my own, as I always have. Alex can try his hardest, but I have no intention of dropping my walls anytime soon.
