Lease to Love

Summer Proctor didn’t mean to become her landlord’s girlfriend.

She meant to clap back at her messy ex on Instagram Live. She meant to protect her reputation and her business and her peace. She did not mean to grab the tall, fine, mean-as-hell man who knocked on her door at exactly the wrong moment and introduce him to twelve thousand people as her boyfriend.
And yet…

Roman Sterling is not Summer’s man. He’s her landlord — the one who owns half of Langston Park, the one the whole neighborhood side-eyes, the one she has been actively avoiding because she owes him rent and also because she cannot stand him. He is not nice. He is not warm. He is not the kind of man who does favors for struggling tenants.
Except he agrees.

Because Roman Sterling has his own reasons for needing Langston Park to trust him — and Summer Proctor is the one person in ten square blocks who could make that happen. So they make a deal. She plays his girlfriend long enough to change the neighborhood’s mind about him. He gives her a year rent-free on the boutique/apartment she built from her grief, her love, and her late cousin’s dream.

Fake relationship. Real terms. Simple.

Except nothing about Summer Proctor is simple. And Roman Sterling, for all his strategy and silence and careful control, did not account for what would happen when he actually got close enough to see her.

Lease to Love is a fake dating, enemies-to-lovers novella set in Langston Park — a fictional Black DC neighborhood where the love stories are real, the community is fighting for its life and it’s blackness, and nothing stays fake for long.

Content/Tropes include: Grumpy/sunshine dynamic (her name is LITERALLY Summer), he fell first, wrong first impressions, grief/hurt/comfort, a very petty ex, one very chaotic Instagram Live, and a man who drops to his knees in a suit for her without hesitating.

Part of the Langston Park Novella Collection — interconnected standalone love stories set in the same ten square blocks of Black DC. Each book is complete. The neighborhood is forever.
