"It's gonna take me a minute to do my hair."

"Don't." His hand disappeared into my curls, fingers gently combing through them. "Wear it down like this."

His mouth curved. "I'm planning on messing it up anyway."

Heat rushed straight into my face.

Well.

Damn.

I took the garment bag and disappeared into the bathroom before my blush could become a full-body situation.

Okay.

Here was what I knew:

One: Things had gone well with Mama E, which meant his initiative was probably as good as passed.

Two: He wanted to celebrate with me.

That was good.

Very good.

And if none of this meant what I hoped it meant...

Well. At least I had number three.

I was probably getting amazing breakup sex.

If this even counted as a breakup.

I'd take it.

The dress was gorgeous.

Of course it was.

Cream-colored, off-the-shoulder, long sleeves, fitted through the waist with a slit climbing up the left thigh. Elegant without being stuffy. Sexy without trying too hard.

I stared at myself in the mirror for a second before smoothing my hands over the fabric.

He knew my style too well.

It made my chest ache.

When I stepped out of the bathroom, Roman was leaning against the kitchen counter, looking down at his phone. The second he heard me, his gaze lifted.

And stayed there.

His eyes traveled slowly over me, not in the way a stranger might look at a woman wearing a pretty dress, but in the way Roman always looked at me now—like he knew exactly what was underneath it and was already thinking about how to get there.

My skin warmed.

"Gorgeous," he said simply.

I tucked a curl behind my ear and turned to grab a pair of heels from the shoe rack.
