“We thought we lost you, baby,” he said, kissing my hand.

“I'm fine, I'm just lucky that I was here and had such a great hospital staff when someone tried to poison me.”

Both of them jerked their heads up, looking at me. “You know?” Vance asked.

“Yes, a Mr. Tucker, the head of security, came to see me and told me what happened, gave me his card and said after they found out who it was that he would call me, not that I don't have some idea of who tried to kill me.”

“What do you mean?” Brice asked me. “Do you think it was Gustavo?”

I shook my head. “No, I believe it was my sister, Camilla.”

“What? Why do you say that?” Brice questioned first.

“When Gustavo took me, I started to come to in the back seat, I overheard him talking to someone saying the job was done.” Watching their reactions to my story, I could see the anger in both of their eyes as their jaws clenched. “He told me that it was my sister that had me kidnapped and taken to Mexico to have my memory erased and sold off to the highest bidder as well as hired him to kill me.”

“Fucking bitch.” Vance gritted out. “But why, why did she want you out of the picture so...? He jammed his hands through his hair. “The power, she wanted all that power to be hers.”

“Yes, but without any proof I know my father will never believe it's true, which is why I will be going home with them. I need to see for myself if it really was my sister who did this to me.”

“You’re leaving us?” Brice asked. “You have to believe us, Lily, we had no other way of finding you. We never intended to let you go with Vitale, never. Not if you didn't really want to.”

“I know why you did it. It just stung a little when I first found out, but I'm not doing this to punish you both... I started to remember things when my parents were in here with me. I just feel like if I don't go home and figure out if it's really my sister who’s after me and remember who I am, that it won't be possible for us to be happy together. There will always be something dark waiting around the corner for us. I need to do this.”

“Then we are going with you.” Vance announced as Brice nodded his head in agreement.

“I can't ask you to leave your lives behind for me. You have a business to run and who knows how long this might take.”

“Do you love us, Lily?” Brice questioned.

“You know I do.”

“Then it's settled, we are going with you.” Trying to speak up Vance held his hand up for me to stop.

“Don't worry about anything, okay? There's a reason we have five owners of our company, for things like this, so we can take time off if needed to attend to the important things in our lives without sacrificing our business. We are officially assigning ourselves to you as your personal bodyguards. Where you go, we go.”

Overwhelmed by their vow to protect me no matter what, the beautiful moment only lasted for a few brief moments before Vitale was entering my room, effectively ending it. All of us turned our attention towards him.

“I would like a moment alone with my fiancé.”

“Not in this fucking lifetime. And she’s no longer your fiancé if you remember correctly.” Vance snapped at him.

“Look...”

“Stop!” I yelled at all of them before things could escalate. “All of you just stop this now. Vance, Brice please give me and Vitale a few minutes alone together, there's a few things we need to discuss.”

When they looked at me I could tell by the reactions in their eyes they thought they were possibly losing me. “It will be fine, I promise.”

“We’ll be right outside, Lily,” Brice said, kissing my forehead before Vance did the same.

Walking past Vitale, Vance gave him a stern warning. “Try anything shady and we will end you, I promise.”

Scoffing at Vance’s comment he only glared back at him. “One day you two gentlemen are going to find out just who it is you’re up against.”

“Don't give a fuck who you think you are, the threat still stands.” Brice enforced as they left the room, leaving Vitale and I staring at one another in silence.

“What do you want, Vitale? You’d better spit it out because I don't think Vance and Brice are going to be okay with you and I in here alone together for very long.”

Sitting down next to my bed, he asked. “Did you let them touch what was promised to me, Lillian?”

“I never promised you anything. Whatever deal you and my father made was never presented to me as a choice, only as a duty to my family. I never would have loved you so why would it matter how you got me?”

“Because your virginity was your father's gift to me!” He roared, standing up and pacing the room. “It was a gift to solidify our two families. How could you act like such a whore, lowering yourself to your sister’s standards? Hell what am I saying, you’re worse! Two men, Lillian? Two?”

Getting pissed that he thought he had any right to an opinion of me I informed him. “First of all, my virginity is my gift to give away, not my father's. And second, don't you even fucking dare compare me to that conniving bitch! She's the reason this has all happened to me in the first place! She's the one who had me taken to Mexico, to be sold off like a sex slave to the
