They moved over to the couch and chair he had. They both sat on the couch and put the food on the coffee table. “What do you want to drink?”

“Water is good,” she said. “I’ll go get it.”

He watched her walk out of his office and help herself. He pulled the gift bag out where he’d had it stashed and placed it on the table.

She came back and saw it along with his grin. “Your gift. Might as well give it to you now.”

“I could wait to open it until we get to my place,” she said.

“Or not,” he said.

“Fine,” she said, pulling it forward and opening it. “Trent. This is too much.”

“It sparkles,” he said. “But there is another part to your gift in my car. That you can let Eli know I gave you. He might appreciate it.”

She rolled her eyes. “Do I even want to know?”

“You’ll find out later.” The little teddy bear would be a nice touch in a seven-year-old’s mind.

They pulled their dinner out and started to eat. She even got the same meal as they’d had before.

When dinner was done he helped her clean up. It was nice to eat here, but now they still had to drive to her place and though it wasn’t convenient, it was sentimental and he would have never figured she’d be that person.

He liked to think that he was helping her be that person.

She stood up and walked over to him, put her arms around his neck, got up on her toes and kissed him. “Thank you for a wonderful first date.”

“Thank you for letting me take you out on one. You can tell your son what a gentleman I was.”

“I could,” she said. “But then you might slip and tell him I wasn’t very good.”

He frowned. “What does that mean?”

“Well,” she said. “I don’t want Eli to think I put out on the first date and all, but I’m going to have to.”

He laughed. “It can be our little secret. We know the truth.”

“Would you be turned off if I said that I wanted to have sex right now?”

This he didn’t expect. “Hell no,” he said.

“Lock your office door just in case,” she said. “You don’t think Janine will come back, do you? The maintenance team doesn’t come at night.”

“We are good,” he said. “Janine is at a basketball game for her son right now.”

“Even better,” she said. “And I’ve got a dress on. No reason to even do much other than lift it.”

He laughed. “Did you plan that?”

“Not really,” she said. “Or not on purpose. Maybe subconsciously I thought it’d be fun to do something I never had before and have thought of many times while I was in here.”

“You’ve never said a word about it,” he said.

“Then it wouldn’t be a surprise.”

His dick was already firm and standing in his pants. But that posed another problem. “I don’t have a condom on me.” Now that he was in a relationship, he wasn’t in the habit of carrying one in his wallet. They were at his house or her house.

“I’ve got one,” she said. “I’m always prepared.”
