“I don’t feel like talking.”

“You never feel like talking.”

“I never feel like talking to you.”

“Not that I have done anything to offend you, but I understand. I am just saying that it’s good to talk and get things off your mind sometimes,” she said. Daniel narrowed his gaze at her as he leaned back in his wheelchair.

“You don’t seem to respect me,” he said. Fiona raised her eyebrows and looked at him as though he was crazy.

“Why would you say that?”

“You never bow your head to me when you are talking to me.”

Fiona burst into laughter but quickly stopped when she saw Daniel’s stern facial expression. Nothing was amusing. “I am sorry, that was inappropriate,” she said.

“My point exactly,” he said.

“I am just not used to it, that is all. Come on, I came from the Bronx. We don’t have royalty over there. It doesn’t mean that I don’t respect you.”

“Well, you need to get used to it quickly.”

“Yes, your highness.”

“Oh, now you remember to address me as your highness.”

Fiona crossed her eyebrows and slightly pouted her rosy lips. Daniel actually noticed that she had nice lips. They were not too thin and not too thick. “Don’t I always address you as your highness?” she asked him.

“You called me Daniel earlier,” he said. He still had not forgotten about that. Fiona burst into giggles.

“It just came out so naturally,” she said. “But what is so bad about calling you by your name?”

“Only those that are very close to me can address me by my name.”

“I thought we were close,” she said. Daniel raised his eyebrows. She was delusional if she thought that they were close. “That was a joke,” she said and laughed a little.

“Not a very funny one.”

Fiona looked at his guitar. “Are you going to play something?” she asked.

“I would like to but you won’t stop talking,” he said. Fiona sprang up to her feet.

“I will get out of your hair and go to the kitchen. What would you like for dinner?”

“Whatever you think is best.” He just wanted her to go so that he could have some peace.

“Okay, just don’t complain later.” She took a few steps towards the door and then came back quickly.

“What now?” Daniel asked.

“Nothing, I just wanted to bow.” Fiona placed her hands on her stomach and lowered her torso. Daniel raised an eyebrow. She looked awkward when she bowed but at least she had bowed this time. Fiona turned on her heel and left the room.

Fiona was a strange woman. He couldn’t understand her but the stranger thing was that he felt better after talking to her. He had actually forgotten all about his father and how talking to him had made him feel.
