Chapter 17

Kiro

Kiro waited for Emma outside his private jet. Raphael had told him that he was clueless about women because his date with Emma had been in his home. Kiro thought that it was fine but Raphael insisted that it had been a lame idea. So Kiro decided to take Emma on another date, especially since he hadn’t seen her for the entire week.

Emma arrived moments later. She got out of the car. Her face immediately lit up when she saw him. She was wearing black high-waisted trousers, a black thin-strapped top and brown flat sandals. Her hair was tied up in a high ponytail. She wore plain clothing but she looked nice. Kiro liked the fact that she didn’t try too hard to impress him.

“Good morning,” Emma said as she approached him.

“Hello,” Kiro replied. “Let’s go.” Emma followed him up the stairs and into the jet. Emma gasped.

“I’ve never been on a private jet before,” she said.

They sat at the beige leather sofas and buckled their seatbelts. Kiro sat in the seat opposite Emma so that he could look at her face. He liked seeing how animated she was in conversation. She was so adorable.

“Where are we going?” Emma asked Kiro moments after they took off.

“Mexico,” he replied. Emma’s eyes widened.

“Mexico?” she spat out.

“Yes.”

She blinked a couple of times before she said anything. “You are taking me to Mexico right now?” she asked him.

“Yes,” Kiro replied plainly.

“Oh my goodness. How long does it even take to get there?”

“A little over two hours,” he replied.

“Oh, I thought it would take longer.” Emma sat comfortably in her seat and looked at him. “Where did you go this week?”

“Morocco.”

Emma raised her eyes. “You have business in Morocco?” she asked. Kiro nodded. Besada Oils supplied oil for a few countries. Morocco was among those countries. Kiro talked to Emma about his trip to Morocco.

The flight attendant brought them drinks. Kiro and Emma talked as they drank. Of course Emma did most of the talking. She was a very talkative woman. However, Kiro did not mind it. He liked listening to her and learning about her life. It was insane how different they were. She and he had such different upbringings. There were huge cultural differences between them.

The jet landed at a private airstrip in Mexico around noon. There was a car already waiting for them. The driver greeted Kiro with a bow and then opened the door for him. Kiro let Emma get into the car first, and then he got in and sat next to her. The driver shut the door behind Kiro and then got into the driver’s seat.

As they drove through the city, Kiro could see Emma’s excitement while she stared out of the window. She was gasping and smiling. Her excitement made him feel excited. He had been to Mexico many times but he had never been as excited as she was. She pointed things out that he had never noticed or cared about. She looked at things from a different perspective.

They arrived at the hotel a little while later. They were greeted by hotel staff with large sombreros. Emma took the sombrero with a big smile on her face and immediately put it on. Kiro refused to wear his. He thought it was a ridiculous idea. Emma took it from the hotel staff and put it on Kiro.

“Emma,” he said.

“It suits you,” she said with a giggle. She took her phone out of her bag and took a picture of him. She stood next to him and took a photo of the both of them in their hats. The odd thing was that Kiro didn’t like the hat, and he normally didn’t take photos with just anyone. He only let people take photographs of him at events and public appearances. However, he let Emma put the hat on him and take a picture of him.

“You’ve had your fun,” Kiro said as he took his hat off and handed it to a hotel staff member. Emma giggled as she put her phone back in her bag.

Emma

A hotel staff member escorted Emma and Kiro into the hotel. They headed into the elevator and went up to the rooftop. They were escorted to a table overlooking a breathtaking view. Emma just took in the beautiful view. The sky was clear, the sun was warm, she had a handsome date; everything was just perfect.

They were served with a range of Mexican foods. Everything looked so appetizing; Emma couldn’t wait to taste it.
