Motwani nodded and walked out, feeling totally out of place. Ranveer neatened his suit and then turned around. His eyes blazed frostily at her.

“Why the hell are you here?” he shouted at Maya.

“Excuse me? This is my company’s matter.”

“It is your boss Vikram Sethi’s responsibility, not yours.”

“And Vikram himself sent me here.”

“He is paid to do this. He cannot send his substitute to talk to clients.”

“You stay out of it and don’t tell me what my boss needs to do and doesn’t. Thanks for speaking up for me, but I would have handled it without you.”

Ranveer clenched his jaw. Handled? When he came here and saw Motwani advancing towards Maya with that predatory look on his face, he wished he had a gun to shoot that man dead.

“Be thankful I didn’t make him beg on his feet,” he shouted back.

Maya was speechless. What was wrong with him? But she didn’t want to extend this argument here. The team of models was waiting for her outside, and she had to even call up and inform Vikram about what just happened. That was a bigger issue than the one she was already in. She tried to calm her raging nerves.

“Slapping him, you just ruined Blitz’s deal with their client, a deal which I was supposed to handle in my way. I know Motwani for two years. He is going to sue Blitz, and you have just succeeded in ruining my career. Again!” she scowled.

Ranveer’s lips pressed into a thin line. She had been referencing the last time he played with her modeling career. He had to deal with that too separately.

“Why am I even wasting time answering you?” she snarled and tried to walk off when Aisha came to the spot. Things started getting clearer to Maya. Was Aisha following her secretly? Did she inform Ranveer about all of this?

“Boss, Motwani and his team have left. I have talked to him already. It’s covered.”

“Good work, Aisha,” Ranveer replied sternly.

Maya gritted her teeth. What did Aisha talk to Motwani, and did that mean her guess was right? Was Aisha full time behind her? As in to protect her? Aisha was still there, waiting for her next set of orders which happened to come from Maya this time.

“Can you leave us for a moment, Aisha?”

Aisha glanced back at Ranveer to confirm if she had to follow it. He nodded in agreement so Aisha left them alone.

“So, Aisha told you this? And you came hopping here?”

Ranveer strode angrily to her and pulled her close.

“Don’t talk to me like I am your slave, completely smitten by your charms to stalk you.”

His tone was enough to grasp his point. He let go of her hand as he realized how tight his grip was.

“Aisha is full time watching you because I want it that way. We are yet to find who was following you that day from work. You won’t even get to know Aisha is around until you land yourself in any kind of trouble, like the one now.”

Maya was clueless. She had never seen anyone taking so much care of her safety. But it was strange. He was the last man she expected to do that for her. To build a safe world around her... for her.

“So why did you come here? Aisha would have handled it, wouldn’t she?” Maya continued arguing.

“I was just in the other block when Aisha informed me about you coming to sort issues with one of your clients. You might know Motwani for two years, but I know him for five. His reputation with beautiful women isn’t that good.”

Maya felt her stomach tickling. Did he just call her beautiful?

“Look who is saying this?” she mocked. “A man who also doesn’t have a good repute with women.”

Ranveer clenched his teeth, his eyes piercing hers.

“I am anything like Motwani. I don’t force women.”
