Max laughs. “He knows.”

I shift my gaze to Ty, and he cocks an eyebrow, in an almost playful gesture.

Wow. Impressive.

“Ok.” I blow out a breath and drop to the mat, laying on my back. “Never been one to push a top away, but given the circumstances…” I wink at Ty, and he scoffs, getting into position over top of me.

Max furrows his brow, looking between us in confusion once again.

And fair enough. I also think it’s weird he’s not trying to kill me for that.

I manage to get out of Ty’s control a few times as we drill, and when we switch, Ty is, of course, an excellent bottom. Which gets me all fired up for different reasons. But I do get him under my control a few times, making me feel more confident in the areas I need heading into the tournament this weekend.

“Alright, good work.” Max nods at us as we stand from the mat. “That’s it for today.”

“Already?” I check the clock on the wall, and it’s only 6:30. Everyone else is still deep into their workout.

“Yup, get out of here. No more work today, you’re looking good.” Max smiles. “Take some time to chill, you’ve earned it.”

I love the sound of that, but Ty immediately looks uncomfortable. He glances around the gym, like he’s looking for something he can do.

“Ty,” Max says gently, bringing his attention to him. “Take a night off.”

Ty swallows and gives him a tight nod.

“Good.” Max smiles then looks over our shoulders to the boxing ring. He gestures with his head towards the locker room and starts towards the ring. “Get out of here, enjoy your night.”

He heads off, leaving Ty and I alone on the mats.

“A night off, with nothing to do…” I say slowly with a smirk.

He once again glances around the gym and opens his mouth to say something, but I beat him to it. Because his excuses just aren’t going to fly here.

“Movie?”

He quickly brings his eyes back to me. “Another cartoon?”

I roll my eyes. “Listen, it’s not a cartoon, it’s animated. And please, don’t pretend like you didn’t enjoy Remy and his culinary genius.”

He draws his brows together and shakes his head. “I did not.”

“Bullshit.”

He huffs a breath and gives his head another shake, turning to head into the locker room. I follow him and am very happy to see the locker room empty as everyone else is still training.

“Alright,” I lean against the locker beside him as he opens his, “well, since you don’t like movies, we’ll just have to find something else to occupy our time.”

He continues to quietly pull his clothes out of his bag, ignoring me.

“Wanna fuck?”

He turns to me with wide eyes, and I laugh.

“Yeah. Come on.” I push off the locker and head to mine. “This time, you can top me and I won’t fight back.”

TWENTY-FOUR

I’m trying not to ask myself or Luca any questions as I follow him into his apartment. I don’t think either of us quite believe we are doing this, and trying my best to stay out of my head in this moment seems like the best thing I can do.
