Luca snorts. “Just.”

“Oh, fuck off.” I shoot him a glare. “You got what you wanted.”

He nods. “Yeah, I did. A little dick sucking in the morning really is a good motivator.”

Seb whips his head up. “Ok, what the fuck!”

“So I guess we’ll be good to go after our long and well-deserved break.” Luca shakes his head, leaning over the counter again to continue working on his cookies.

“You’ll be thankful for it when it comes time to get back to heavy work,” I say, and take a drink of my beer.

He looks up at me through his messy curls hanging over his forehead and gives me a little smirk.

I give one back to him and catch Seb out of the corner of my eye, still looking confused. Adão just smiles, and we bring our attention back to baking.

Seb tries to make a pair of boxing gloves, but after baking them it just looks like a dick with huge balls. And when Luca dunks it in the icing and tries to shove it in my mouth, he earns a semi-unintentional throat punch from me.

But overall, it’s probably the best Christmas I’ve ever had.

THIRTY-NINE

I’m watching Ty’s ass flex perfectly with each step he takes in his black fight shorts, when he suddenly stops outside the locker room.

I look up just before I run into said perfect ass, to see Max standing there, blocking our way into the gym.

He glances between us. “Can I talk to you two?”

“Sure,” I say slowly, glancing at Ty. But he doesn’t look at me. His jaw is tight and he’s unreadable as we follow Max into his office.

Max closes the door, gesturing to two chairs for us to sit. He then perches himself on the edge of his desk, crossing his arms.

Fuck.

Is he kicking us out?

“So,” Max says, looking between us, “I just wanted to check in…” He looks uneasy, like he’s not sure what to say or do.

And now I know why we’re here.

I lean forward with a smile. “About?”

Ty glances at me nervously.

“Alright, I’m just going to ask.” Max uncrosses his arms and places his palms on the desk on either side of him. “What’s going on here? Are you… together?”

Oof. Ok, well that’s a loaded question.

I turn to Ty and see his fingers fidget on his lap. There are some feels at play here… I mean, I tattooed his stars on me, but… are we together? As I watch him fidget, I feel a little hope rise. Because he’s not jumping at the chance to say no.

And when he gives me a little nod, I light the fuck up.

I turn back to Max with a big smile. “Yup.”

He must not have been expecting that answer, as his expression morphs into one of shock. “How the fuck did that happen?” His head whips between us several times, like he’s waiting for us to yell psyche!

“It was the tension.” I nod seriously. “Hatred often walks in disguise…”

Ty snorts and shakes his head. “The hatred was real.”
