“What deal?” I questioned, still looking between the two of them for an answer.
“The agreement was for them to return you to me, your fiancé, when they found you.” Vitale informed me, speaking up first as I watched Vance and Brice hang their heads.
“Is... is that true? Did you agree to return me to him?”
“We did but...” Vance began.
“No!" I yelled, cutting him off. “You said that you would never allow me to be taken from you, yet you agreed to return me to him?” I asked, my voice cracking at the end like my heart was right now.
“We had to, Lily. It was the only way he would tell us where Gustavo might have taken you. But you have to know that we would never make you leave with him if you didn't want to go.” Brice told me.
But they made the agreement. They promised to give me back to Vitale in exchange for information to find me, but did they have to agree to something so severe to get me back? Did they always plan on giving me back to him? With these five men sitting around staring at me, I couldn't think. “Leave,” I said in a small voice.
“Lily...” Vance started to say.
“Leave!” I screamed out at everyone in the room as I pushed the nurse’s button. “I can't think with all of you in here
staring at me!” I yelled at them just as the nurse walked in.
“What's going on in here? Why is she so upset?” The nurse questioned, rushing to my side.
“Please... make them all leave.” I got out between sobs.
“Lily, please you have to listen to me, we...” Brice started to say before the nurse cut him off.
“Okay, everyone out, out of this room right now, Miss Marchetti needs her rest and you all in here upsetting her is not helping.” She ordered, ushering them out.
“I'll be back, Lillian.” Vitale promised before leaving the room.
“We're not leaving you, Lily.” Vance assured me as they both left the room.
Once they were all gone, the nurse returned to adjust my pillow for me. “There you go honey, now you just get some rest and I'll make sure that no one disturbs you,” she said, leaving the room, shutting the door, leaving me with only my thoughts in the room.
