CHAPTER

Vitale

“Sir.” Arnoldo calledout, knocking on the doorway to my office.

“Yes, come in.” I’m anxious as to what, if anything, he found out.

“I sat outside her bedroom door, like you asked, and heard her phone go off. It sounded like she was talking to someone about a job she’d hired them to do.”

Scrubbing my hand over my chin and pushing back into my chair I tried to figure out who it would be that she could possibly hire that wouldn't report back to me about it. There was only one name that came to mind, he was a man that chose no sides and held no loyalty to anyone when it came to being hired for a job.

Gustavo.

“What else did you hear?”

“It sounded like after she hung up with the first person she was talking to, she called someone else and

asked them to meet her in twenty minutes at the usual spot.” Clearing his throat, he continued. “It sounded like it was someone she's been seeing behind your back, sir.”

Getting livid at the thought of her even thinking she could embarrass me like this, I shouted at him. “Then why the fuck are you in here talking to me when you should be out there following her?!”

Waving his hands out in front of himself, like he always did when he tried to calm me down, he informed me. “I put one of my guys on it, so she's being tailed right now.”

I let out a heavy breath. “Good. I apologize, I should know better than to think you would let me down by now.”

“It's forgotten, sir.”

“Let me know what he finds out when he calls in.”

“Will do, sir.”

“Now close the door, I need to make a call.” I told him, already dismissing him as I picked up my phone.

“Sí.” He answered on the third ring.

“Gustavo, it's been awhile.” I said, leaning back in my chair.

“Yes it has, Mr. Gatti. What is it can I do for you?”

“You can help me out with a little bit of information I think you might have for me.”

“Is that so?”

“It is. Meet me at the warehouse on Franklin tomorrow night.”

“Am I to assume you will come heavily guarded?” He questioned, knowing I never went anywhere without my bodyguards.

“It will only be, Arnoldo, my right-hand man and I, you have my word.”

“What time?”

“11pm.” I answered.

“I'll see you then.” The line dropped without another word.
