CHAPTER

53

Keira

When I saw that itwas Porter that had busted in the door, a flood of relief overwhelmed me, and I couldn't stand the thought of not being able to feel his touch any longer. Running into his arms, I started to sob. After a few moments he finally calmed me down, and had Luciano cuffed. He said a few words to him that I couldn't hear, and it sent Luciano into a fit of rage, shouting that he had to be taken to prison and couldn't just be killed here. But by the look in Porter's eyes, that was exactly what he had planned. I felt absolutely no remorse for whatever ending Luciano was about to meet after what he'd done to us.

As we started to leave the room, Hudson and Brice approached us in the hallway. "There's our girl!" Hudson said, hugging me. "Are you okay?" he asked, setting me back away from him to look me over.

"I'm fine." I assured him as he stared at my face.

Brushing the hair back from my cheek, he looked over at Porter. "Did you see this?" he gestured to the mark Luciano made on my face.

Porter approached me and turned my face to the side, moving my hair back to get a better look at the mark, then glared up at Luciano. "Did he do this to you?" he questioned, not taking his eyes off of him.

Looking straight into Luciano's eyes, I answered Porter. "Yes, he did."

"Get him to his new cell." he told Turner through gritted teeth.

As Turner and Hudson both took one of his arms and led him away, he shouted out obscenities and empty threats, knowing he was about to meet his own demise.

"I'm going to go check on Brody," Brice said, walking away.

Looking down at me, Porter cradled my face in his hands. "God I’ve missed you," He captured my eyes as he pulled me in for a kiss that was so long over do. Brushing his lips ever so lightly over mine, he ran his tongue over my bottom lip, and I opened up to him. Deepening the kiss, we fed off of one another like drug addicts needing their next fix.

When we finally broke apart, coming up for air, neither one of us released our grip on the other, touching our foreheads together. "I missed you, too." I told him before what Brice said earlier suddenly sunk in. "Wait, is Brody okay?" I asked, snapping my head back to look up at him.

"He's going to be just fine. It was only a shoulder wound, in fact, let's go back and check on him. Vance was tending to him when I left to get to you."

Walking into the office, we saw that Brody had now been moved to a chair and had his shirt off and wrapped over his wound. When he looked up at us, I could see the relief cross his face. "Thank fucking God you're okay. I thought I'd lost you to that asshole," getting up, he walked towards us, hugging me before looking at Porter. "Sorry I let you down, brother."

Pulling Brody in for a hug on the side of his good shoulder, he said, "You didn't let me down. You got her out of there, so there's nothing to be sorry about, man."

"So glad to see that you're okay," Vance kissed my cheek, pulling me in and hugging me tightly to him. "You had us worried to death." Motioning to Porter, he said, "I think Jensen here lost ten years off his life over this whole mess. I think we all did actually."

"I'm just happy to see you all again." Tears pricked my eyes as I looked up at Porter. Wrapping his arm around me, he gripped me to his side. "I tried not to, but I started to lose hope in ever being found."

"I would have never stopped until I found you," he hugged me tightly and then it suddenly dawned on me and I pushed out of his hold.

"The girl! We have to find her!" I turned around to leave the room and an arm wrapped around my waist before I even made it out, pulling back into Porter. Turning me around to face him, he asked. "What girl are you talking about?"

"I don't know her name. She doesn't either. She has amnesia or something, I don’t know, but we have to find her. I can't just leave her behind. She needs our help."

Looking at Brody, Porter asked. "Are you okay to walk out of here on your own back to the car?"

"I'm good."

Looking at Vance, and Brice, he told them. "Take Keira and see if you can find this girl. I've got some things that I need to finish up here and she doesn't need to be around for it."

"No! Please don't leave me." I begged him in a panic, gripping onto his shirt like a frightened child.

Feeling Vance behind me, he pulled my arms off of Porter, saying in my ear. "We will take good care of you, Keira. Trust me, nothing will happen to you. You're safe with us."

When I looked up into Porter's eyes, he nodded. "Go with them Keira and find the girl. I'll be right behind you shortly."

"It's not me that I'm worried about. It's you. What if something happens to you? I can't lose you again... I can't." I finished on a sob.

Pulling me in tight, he kissed the top of my head like he always did to calm me. "Nothing is going to happen to me. I'm going to make sure that no one ever harms you again. I have to do this, for us, and the others, to keep us all safe."
