"Jake, it's Keira."

"Keira, Oh my God, how have you been?"

"Good. Hey, I need for you to help me with something."

"Sure, what did you need?"

"Okay, so you know how I was having trouble remembering things after my kidnapping?"

"Yes."

"Well, I need to know how you and I came to be at the club that night I was taken, and if I said anything to you about anything that happened earlier that day."

Silence hung in the air between us for a moment before he finally spoke. "Keira, I love you and all but if I tell you what went on that night, I'll be putting my life and Evan's in serious danger. More so than that night. I've already received a clear warning not to talk to you. Why do you think I took off after everything that went down with your father?"

"I thought you left so you and Evan could be together?"

"I... we did, look... shit, okay, I'm going to tell you what happened that night Keira, but you can never contact me again after this, all right?"

The brutal pinch of hurt I felt after thinking Jake was really my one true friend, only to find out that he'd been deceiving me and left me in the dark to save his own ass, just like my "friends" always had, I tried to contain my anger so he would continue. "Okay Jake, I promise I won't contact you after this."

"So I was at the club that night, Evan and I, and you showed up scared out of your mind, telling me that you were being followed, that someone was after you because of who or what you saw that morning in your father's office. You were half out of your mind with what they would do if they found you, but you never told me more than that because the second we left the club, to talk further, those thugs pulled up and shot me and took you."

I looked at Porter and Vance, who were listening in. "Thanks for your help Jake, and I wish you and Evan all the best."

"Thank you... and Keira?"

"Yes."

"Be safe," he said before ending the call.
