We are so pleased that you are attending our convention being held in San Diego in March. We were wondering if your partner, Avery Sparkman, would be able to attend as well.

Your products have come to our attention through their use by local celebrities and makeup artists. We were informed that Avery used her products and did the makeup for Declan and Callie Reed’s wedding.

We would like to see your full range of cosmetics for every day and for professional use on display. Our intention is to have further discussions with you about selling your products in our stores. We are happy to cover the costs of flights and accommodation at the convention center if you would be willing to do a demonstration tour at some of our stores.

The details and itinerary are enclosed.

We look forward to hearing from you.

My mind was going over and over with what I was reading and trying to comprehend what they were asking. Patrick was still waiting. In the past, I might have been hesitant but my short time with Corey had taught me one thing. Grab an opportunity when it presents itself.

“Will you go? This is what we have been working for. This is our big chance.”

“Hell, yes, we can go.” I jumped up, and we both screamed as we danced around. Fiona just looked on and shook her head.

“Good job you have me to be sensible around here,” she said and smiled.

My last day in Queensland was spent in town grabbing some more gifts for people back in LA. I had forgotten Declan and Callie’s kids. I bought them all stuffed Australian animal toys. Then I went and sat down at the marina. The catamaran that we had gone for a trip on was there. The skipper, Val, waved to me as I walked past. Then she walked to the dock.

“Not going on any trips today,” she asked.

“No, it’s my last day and heading back home tomorrow.”

“Where’s Emmy?”

“She’s gone home. We were just together for the holiday.” Why the hell was I telling her that? Nobody needed to know what had gone on between us. They didn’t need to know I was missing that cute brunette.

“Take advice from someone who let too many fish slip through her fingers, you two seemed suited. Well, I should mind my own business and hope you had a good time on the cruise.”

“We did, the trip on your boat was special. I hope to come back one day.” I meant it. If the world got to be too hectic for me or I beat the shit out of someone again then I would come here to get away from it all.

I packed my bag and headed to the resort restaurant. The food was great, but it seemed empty not having someone to share it with. I thought of Emmy laughing and joking the other night when we were here. I should have gotten a photograph of her. At least I had my memories and that would have to do.

As I was driven down the coast the next day I thought about LA and wondered if the heat had cooled off. My representatives were good and would deal with it. So far, I had not received any more emails to say I was about to get sued or end up in prison on charges of assault, so I assumed I was okay.

The flight to Brisbane was on time and I waited in the lounge at the airport until the call for my flight to LA. I would miss Australia, but I would miss Emmy more.

I had a new script to learn so I would use the time on the flight to get it down pat. Dark Storm was a fun show to be on. I had been lucky to get the part and had made so many new friends. Declan and his brother Jack didn’t fit the mold in Hollywood and were really down to earth and I liked that. It was more me. Plus, Jack could almost drink me under the table. He never seemed to get a hangover either. The man must have a cast iron liver.

Hollywood was a tough place and having people around you that had your back was important. I hoped I didn’t lose my part on the show. Maybe if I took the job in Iceland things would have cooled down when I got back.

I learned the lines and lay down to try and get some sleep on the thirteen-hour flight. When I closed my eyes, I pictured Emmy. I had a hot dream about her last night and woke up with a hard dick. I had relieved myself imagining her riding me. It had helped but wasn’t the real thing. Perhaps I should get back in the saddle and go out when I got back. Trouble was I wasn’t interested. I had to hope time would ease the memory and I would move on.

There had still been no news from Gill either. I would leave it be and assume she would contact me if she needed anything. She might be a bit of a crazy lady, and I didn’t want to be involved, but I also didn’t want her hurting.

Sleep eventually came and I would be back to the real world not some tropical paradise when I woke up. I managed to get through customs easily enough and grabbed a taxi. I had one day before I would be back filming on set and needed to make the calls. First was Jenny, my publicist. I dialed her number.

“Great to hear you are back. So, Brad is not going to press charges but seems he was really pissed he got caught out. Go figure. Also, the news around town is that his wife has left him. He says she is just visiting family but moving vans were seen at their mansion in Beverly Hills. Her father is rich, so she won’t be slumming it.”

“I’m glad she has gotten out. It’s a hard thing to do no matter how rich you are.” People had their reasons for staying, fear, intimidation, or beliefs.
