“Nobody shits on one of us,” Ali said, pointing at me.

“But I’m not one of you,” I replied.

“You in Gauntlet’s… life?” Phoe asked, changing the last word as she saw Faelea watching avidly.

It was obvious what Phoe was asking. Was I sleeping with Gauntlet?

“Yes.”

“Then you’re a part of us, and so is Faelea. The freaking Hellions will be arriving back at HQ now. Would you like someone to walk Faelea over, and she can make some mates? Better than meeting everyone en masse, which will be overwhelming,” Phoe asked.

Faelea perked up at the mention of new friends, and I couldn’t deny her.

“What if Jax and Arlo are waiting outside?” I questioned, worried.

“They’ve got no idea what Faelea looks like. I’ll have Lindsey and Casey walk her across. For all anyone knows, Faelea could be their daughter. And considering Casey is an unofficial part of a Delta Force team, she can take down any man,” Phoe said.

“Especially if she has a bat! Ask her husband!” Lindsey giggled as Casey scowled.

“You ever going to let me forget that?” Casey groaned.

“I think Silvie is still pissed over it.” Marsha chuckled.

“Seriously?” Casey demanded, turning to Marsha in horror.

“No, but it was worth it to see your reaction.” Marsha laughed as Casey frowned.

“I hate all of you. No, honestly, I do!” Casey yelled as everyone giggled apart from me. I’d no idea what they were laughing at.

“When Casey first met Mac, her husband, she thought he was an enforcer for some scumbags and there to collect a forced payment for protection. Qui? So, Casey hit him with a bat,” Vivie explained, seeing my confusion.

“In fact, she beat Mac so bad his ass ended up in hospital. Casey nearly ruptured his balls!” Phoe said, wiping tears from her eyes.

“Casey’s father, Jacob, was part of a Delta Force team. And he brought Casey up in their way. Fuck, you should see the assault courses she runs. Casey may not have formally signed up, but that didn’t matter to her father. He trained her since she was small. Don’t ever mess or get in a fight with Casey; she’ll whoop your ass and walk away without breaking a sweat.” Autumn chuckled.

“Holy shit. Where were you ten years ago?” I gasped as Casey began laughing.

“Right here, hun, and I’ll be here by your side for the rest of your life,” Casey promised.

“I had that once, someone who was my ride or die. And she died, and I took the blame for it. I miss that closeness. It would be nice to have female mates again,” I whispered.

Casey reached out and gripped my shoulder tightly.

“Old ladies ain’t friends. We’re family, and while we will fight, fall out with each other, argue, and have many different ideas and thought processes, it doesn’t matter. Because we are family,” Sin said quietly.

“It takes all types to make one, and you’re very welcome, and soon enough, you’ll find your own place when Gauntlet claims you. For now, we’ll enjoy getting to know you and that precious little girl,” Phoe added with a nod.

I tilted my head as everyone nodded with Phoe. There was a hierarchy there. But it wasn’t obvious. If I was there long enough, if Gauntlet wanted me to stick around, I’d soon learn it.

“Hey guys, Rosie’s going to be late. She’s had an emergency come in. But I’m here to help!” a voice announced, and a woman strolled in.

“No!” Penny cried in horror as everyone voiced their objections.

I laughed at the look on the woman’s face.

“I could put together the salad,” she said, and everybody shook their head.

“Nope. Not risking it, Aurora. You can open the pickles and stuff and put them into bowls. Do not come anywhere near the food prep!” Penny scolded as the woman, who I judged to be around my age, laughed.
