"You don't?" He asked, shifting on the bed. "You don't remember what happened last night?" I do, but I wasn't going to tell him that.

"No," I said, giving him a short answer. He stood up, taking a deep breath.

"Don't lie to me, Delilah. I know something happened. I haven't seen him or Evelyn since last night, and neither has Jay. My head snapped towards him. He had his hands on his hips, looking at me.

"You haven't seen them?"

"No. Because I'm guessing something went down last night that they're trying to cover now," Issac went on. "Now, if you could fucking tell me, that would be great! And don't try to bullshit your way through this, Delilah, because it's fucking obvious!" He shouted at me, making me flinch.

"Issac, I don't"

"Don't give me that. I don't know bullshit!" He shouted again. I stalked towards me.

"Issac, stop," I said, pushing myself across the bed, away from him. He closed in.

"Fucking tell me. I'm done playing games!" He roared. Tears crept down my cheeks.

"They, they cornered me in the locker room!" I began, and he slowly sat on the bed again. All his focus was on me. He was waiting for me to continue. "I was able to get away."

"What did they do?" He hissed.

"Evelyn pulled the knife on me while Isaiah held me against a wall. I fought back, then ran away."

"And that's when you came looking for me?" He finished my sentence. I nodded. He shook his head and rubbed his face with his hands. "Fuck!" he hollered. My head throbbed with every yell he made. He stood up. I could feel his anger rising.

"Issac, I think it's probably best I leave. It'll be safer for you AND me," I said. He froze and turned to me.

"I'm sorry," He whispered.

"Stop," I said, shaking my head.

"Delilah, it's not gonna be safe for us anywhere," he spilled, looking at me. I looked at him, confused.

"What?"

"Isaiah will know your every move, Delilah. Nowhere is safe. Leaving wouldn't be good; if you stay, you'll have more eyes on you."

"Issac, I'm sure-"

"No, Delilah! You're not listening! Don't fucking leave! You can't! It's not fucking safe. He WILL kill you! And I can't," He stopped mid-sentence.

"Can't what, Issac?" I asked. He shook his head.

"Nothing, just, don't" He was trying to put together a sentence.

"Issac" He didn't answer me. Instead, he turned towards the door.

"Hey!" I said, stopping Issac from walking out. He stopped in his tracks and looked over his shoulder. "I'm not gonna let you just walk away from me like that! Spill it! What's the fucking is it, Issac?!"

Issac turned towards me and began stalking his way toward me. He got in my face and started backing me up by putting me against a wall. His face was inches from mine. "You really wanna know?" He hissed.

"Yes," I whispered, looking up at him. I could see his eyes search my face.

"I haven't and can't stop thinking about you, Delilah. I don't fucking know why, but I can't. Every chick I've been with since you left hasn't felt right. I feel guilty and wish they were you. Now you're here, and I can't protect you. I just keep fucking things up!" he confessed, looking into my eyes. I searched my mind for something to say, but I couldn't. I don't even know how to feel, but I know I could feel something.

Chapter 41

Issac shook his head and turned his body away. I quickly grabbed his shirt, pulling him back to me, crashing our lips together. His hand immediately went to my throat; he didn't squeeze it. He just rested there. Biting my bottom lip, I granted him access to my tongue. Our tongues collided. I placed my hands on his chest, slowly closing the distance between us.
