I parked the car at the entrance of the park and got out. The park was packed with people, kids running around with balloons, and dogs chasing after their owners. The sun was shining, and the sky was a bright blue. It was a perfect day for a picnic. I took a deep breath and walked towards the picnic spot. As I got closer, I saw the catering crew setting up the area. There was a table covered with a white tablecloth and flowers in vases. The crew was working quickly to get everything set up. And it looked good.

"Excuse me," I said to one worker. "Are you guys almost done?"

"Yes, sir. Everything is all set up," she replied with a smile.

I looked around and made a few requests for small rearrangements. Once everything was perfect, I thanked the workers and made my way back to the car. I couldn't wait for Becca to see this.

As I drove to Becca's cafe, my heart raced with excitement. I couldn't wait to see her reaction when she saw the surprise for her. I parked the car in the lot and made my way to the entrance of the cafe.

As I stepped inside, I was hit with the delicious aroma of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods. The chatter of patrons filled the air as they enjoyed their meals and drinks. I scanned the area, trying to spot Becca.

Finally, I saw her at a table by the window, she looked like she was working on the numbers again. As I approached, a smile spread across her face.

"You're late," she said when I got to her.

"You'll forgive me when you see what I've got up my sleeve," I replied, my voice cocky.

Becca rolled her eyes, but the smile on her face revealed her excitement. We chatted for a bit as she gathered her things, and then we made our way out of the cafe and towards the car.

"So, how's Mark doing?" Becca asked, her tone filled with genuine concern.

"He's doing great. I dropped him off at school this morning, and he was so excited to see his friends," I replied, feeling proud of my little guy.

"I'm glad to hear that," she smiled warmly.

"And how's the café business doing?"

She chuckled. "It's going well, thanks for asking. It's been keeping me busy, but I'm enjoying the work."

"That's great to hear. I'm happy for you," I replied, my eyes meeting hers briefly before turning back to the road.

I drove towards the park, the conversation flowing effortlessly between us. We talked about work, our families, and our plans for the future. It was nice to just talk and connect with Becca on a deeper level.

I pulled up at the park an hour later, the sun would set soon.

"The park?" Becca asked.

"Don't beat it," I replied.

When we got close, I made Becca close her eyes while I took her hand and led her forward.

"You can open them now," I said grandly.

First was the sharp inhale and then a gasp.

"Wow, Hunter, how did you manage all of this? It's incredible!" Becca exclaimed, looking around at the beautiful picnic setup.

"I can't give away all my trade secrets, Becca," I replied with a sly smile, feeling proud of my surprise.

"Oh, come on, you can tell me," Becca said, playfully nudging me with her elbow.

"Well, let's just say I have connections," I said, grinning.

Becca rolled her eyes, but I could see the amusement in them. "Alright, I won't push it. But seriously, thank you so much. This is amazing."

"You're worth it, Becca," I said, feeling a surge of affection toward her.

Becca leaned in and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek. "You're too sweet," she said, smiling.
