I nod my head in agreement. “It’s probably the best idea you’ve had, besides our vacation,” I joke.

“What the fuck ever. Kendall won’t admit, but she needs the help. Even though she refuses to hire a nanny. Stubborn damn woman,” he groans. I shake my head, take a sip of my beer. I can’t disagree with him on that matter, hell my wife is the exact same way.

“I don’t know about you, but I’m going to steal my wife away for a little bit. We’ll meet you guys for dinner?” I question, as I start to walk down the path leading to the white sands and clear blue water.

“Sounds good, if you all want a night off. You won’t hear me complain, this vacation was for us to reconnect with our women, not sing kumbaya together,” he laughs.

“Good, we’ll see you tomorrow,” I nod, my mind is on my woman and I know there are several hiding spots around town

“What are you doing down here, I figured you and Declan would be talking shop or man talk,” Larissa says, coming up to me. Her hands slide around my bare torso.

“We did, not too much though. Were here for vacation, not work,” I grunt out as she moves closer to me. Larissa is in a two-piece bathing suit, it’s high waisted, something about having a mom pooch, that I don’t understand at all. She’s perfect to me, those lines, that loose skin, it doesn’t compare one bit to the way I feel about her. How her body held our children, it’s more than I could ever ask for.

“I think Declan may have some plans for the two of you tonight,” I offer to Kendall, her eyes light up and then she says, “See you guys later.”

“Well that was different, do you know what they’re doing?”

“No idea, I’m thinking they want one on one time, seem familiar?” I wiggle my eyebrows letting her know exactly what I mean. Larissa smiles up at me, takes my hand in hers and she’s running into the direction I wanted her all along.

“You’re always scheming something Jake, and in this case, it’s working for you,” she giggles.

We reach the hidden cove, we’re no sooner there and she is untying the strings of her top. My eyes are locked on her body the entire time.

We don’t make it back to the house until well after the sun has set and the moon is hanging over the sky, it was worth it to spend the time together, just us two away from the house.

Larissa is wrapped up in my arms, both of us lying in bed when she whispers, “I know this is supposed to be a trip for us adults and time for us to reconnect, but I can’t help but miss the kids and all the memories we could be making with them.”

I’m in my own thoughts for a while, before I say, “We’ll be seeing them in two days, maybe we can do a family vacation soon. We haven’t done that in a long time, I’ve really been neglectful, haven’t I?”

“No, the company needs you too, it’s only been since Christmas that we went on vacation with them,” she leans up on her elbow, her hair is draped over our naked chests as she kisses me, I deepen it wanting to be surrounded by her flavor. When we’re both gasping for breath after we pull back, she plants her head over my heart, this is her sign she’s ready to fall asleep, there’s no more talking coming from her. I have to chuckle, because she’s always been this way, “Goodnight, Rissa, I love you.”

“’Night, Jake, love you too,” she murmurs out sleepily, all the while I lay awake, coming up with a new surprise.

Chapter Four

Declan

It seems like Jake and I are up and ready to go for the day before our women are and when he came up with the idea to buy a house down here for Larissa and them, I was ready to help in any way I could. This house is big but when you take into account Kendall and I have five kids plus if my parents come to visit while we’re here, it’s not big enough to add an additional six people.

“Have you seen any houses for sale while we’ve been down here?” I ask Jake.

“I haven’t really looked, my accountant said I needed to invest in properties which I’ve done, but they’re commercial buildings. I didn’t even think to buy a vacation home. Spending the summer down here may make us all take a step back from the go, go, go lifestyle,” he replies.

He could always hire a real estate agent but knowing Jake he’ll want this done fast. He mentioned starting it this Summer, especially since the company is on the hunt now for its next business partner.
