“It is my daughter and not Feng’s this time around. No dragon has ever not spawned an omega when they so choose.” He snorted. “You, like many others, prayed for your sons to find women who were worthy of them. Did you think the only answer was an omega? Foolishness.”

Olly got to her feet. “Feng. Stop.” She touched his flaming shoulder and turned him toward her. She smiled. “Fen will not be allowed near our daughter. It’s fine. She can convince the others of whatever she wants. I have you, I have Benjiro, and I will have Taio when he finishes his growth spurt.”

Taio yelled, “Hah!”

Feng turned into his dragon and kissed her. He had only done it once before, so it was surprising. She recognized the tongue though. It had a fondness for the middle of the night.

He slowly returned to himself and lifted his head. “Dragon tamer.”

She laughed. “Feeling less irritated?”

“Certainly. More like wearing you in public, but it is time for the party to start.”

“I thought this was it.”

“Oh, no. This is the gathering. The party starts now.”

Screens lit up, music started, and the party was underway.

Fen watched Nora approach and grimaced when she heard, “Well, it seems you have decided to ignore the lessons of Olyna.”

Madame Fen muttered, “She is nothing.”

“She is a twin, born as a set of triplets with the non-identical one being the omega. She has been tormented, teased, tortured, and even sold for a designer purse just to make the omega in the family happy. She fought her way out of everything her sibling did to her, but at last, she had to run. The males who had bought her were seniors in their school.”

Nora looked at her. “Everything Olly is, she made herself. No one has handed anything to her, and as someone who was abused by an omega, I applaud her ability to stand proud and not let people take her under. She would have respected you as an elder if you hadn’t been so petty.”

“Feng deserves an omega.”

“There is one dragon omega in the area, and she is taken. Feng made his own.” Nora smiled. “He is a special alpha; he needs a special mate. He needs a fighter, so his beast made one. If you want to argue with the dragon about who is suitable, you might not come out on top. He doesn’t care about family ties and protocol. He just wants his partner, and he has her. Give up your dream of an omega for him. Look at him and his partners and see how happy they are together. Think of you with your mates and try to remember when you were that happy.” Nora smiled. “I get to be that happy every day, and I was never born an omega.”

Fen’s mouth opened, then closed, and she stared toward her grandson and his fiancée. They were dancing slowly, and Feng was caressing Olly’s back. The dragon on her back writhed and undulated. It was pleased. The clouds rumbled and twisted around the dragon. She looked at the video playing again and saw the images of her and her mates. They were happy. They laughed together. Their hands and bodies touched easily, no matter where they were. The sweet image of Feng holding her back against him with his palm on her belly spoke volumes. His expression was that of a man fully in love... and she had tried to get him to interview an omega that he wanted nothing to do with. Her obedient little grandson was gone. The boy had turned into a man who was ready to become a father, and his pack was there for support.

She stalked to the area where her mates and children were and sat down. “I want to keep Feng in the family.”

His mother nodded, “Yes, Lady Fen.”

“What do you think of his mate?”

Fang smiled. “I think she is wonderful. She is strong but respectful and has a strong sense of attachment to family. She will be a good daughter-in-law.”

“What did she bring you when she was introduced?”

“Fruit, a necklace, and Chao’s favourite tea.”

Fen blinked. “She did?”

“She did. It was very good fruit and chosen carefully, arranged in a lovely box.” Fang smiled. “You did not experience this?”

“No. She was out shopping with Feng and the others, so I ordered them to visit me.”

Fang smiled. “Then that is the reason. If you had asked to see her as Feng’s grandmother, she would have responded differently to you than receiving an order from an omega.”

“So, you are on her side.” Fen looked at her daughter-in-law.

Chao nodded. “Yes, Mother, we are. Her side is Feng’s side.”
