“Oh, Lexa, this is Benjiro. Benjiro, this is Feng’s aunt. Lexa.”

He reached out with one hand and shook her hand. “Pleased to meet you.”

Hailey frowned. “You are supposed to smile and tell her she’s cute.”

Olly smiled. “Not everyone has to think your mother is the best. Benjiro thinks I am the best. That is how it is supposed to be.”

“And Feng thinks she’s the best.” Benjiro stroked her cheek. “And Taio just wants the chance to be her mate as well. And none of us have an interest in your mother, but that makes her valuable to your family just as Olly is to ours.”

She was picked up.

“And now, Feng wishes to have his fiancée at his side. Do excuse us.”

“What, what does he want? He isn’t calling.”

“Alexi wants a family photo.”

He walked her past Madame Fen, and she understood. “Sneaky buggers for such big guys.”

She was carried into a thick cloud of alphas, and they parted for Benjiro.

Feng was wrestling with a younger cousin, and when he saw her, he flipped the young man and walked over to her. “Pretty one. I have been told by my cousins that you can’t stand up to your mates. So, do you wish to prove them wrong?”

“I would say hold my purse, but I don’t have one.”

Benjiro grinned. “Good. You are pushing against me.”

“You you? Or fluffy you?”

He chuckled. “Me.”

“Oh, good. Somebody hold my shoes.”

A ring was drawn in chalk, and she faced off against Benjiro to the snickers of Feng’s family and the Russians.

She squatted and grinned. “Consider the salt thrown.”

He nodded, and when the flag was lifted between the two of them, they hit with a thunderclap. There was no way she could win, but she could slow him down. She dug her feet in and pushed, pulling power from the mark on her back.

She counted to eight and then started to struggle. He slowly pushed her out of the ring, and she stumbled as she went over the edge. He jumped and wrapped around her, holding her safe as she fell.

She lay on top of him. “That is not going to replace foreplay.”

He grinned and kissed her.

Olly smiled and returned the kiss when Madame Fen’s voice rang out. “Easy to do when it’s her mate. How do you know what she was actually doing?”

Benjiro smiled. “Pick a champion.”

Madame Fen frowned. “Delun.”

Delun crossed his arms. “No. She’s an athlete, and her skills demand respect. What are you doing?”

“She’s an attention-seeking beta. That child she bears will be the same.”

Feng stepped forward, wreathed in silver flame. “My daughter will be an omega with the strength of her mother. Do you doubt me, Fen?”

Madame Fen backed up and paled. “You...”
