“He doesn’t smell like either of her mates, so her body was irritated. We would have seen it more if she hadn’t been knotted.” Feng walked up to her and exhaled slowly, drying her off. “Taio, let’s start this now. Come here.”

The next half hour was spent transferring Feng’s scent to Taio and getting Olly to accept his touch. By the time they were settled out on the deck, Olly was cuddled with Taio and only flinching a little. Both of the alphas had gotten their scent on him, so she was more at ease than she was before.

She curled up against him and pressed her nose to his neck. She whispered, “I hope you guys do really well in the match.”

He smiled. “We will. We don’t want to embarrass our beta.”

She sighed and looked up at the stars until she nodded off.

Late at night, she heard her phone. She followed the sound and answered. “Yes?”

Caber’s voice came to her. “Olly? One of my clients has a foaling mare in distress. Can you go and help her out?”

“Sure. When?”

“Now. Minoru redirected them, and the helicopter will be there in a few minutes.”

“Shit. Right. Okay. Pants.” She added, “I will keep you posted.” She hung up and turned to her three naked and sleepy bed buddies. “So, who is coming with me, and where is my backpack?”

Benjiro helped her find her backpack, but her clothing was in storage somewhere.

“Fine. I owe Feng for this because this dress is gonna be trashed by the end of the morning.” She grabbed a silk dress and heard the helicopter approaching. Benjiro came with her, wearing jeans and a t-shirt. They ran for the helicopter, and she grinned into the passenger door. “Are you my ride?”

A man with black hair and black eyes nodded. “Niko. You are Olly?”

“Yes. This is Benjiro. I am not allowed out on my own.” She clambered into the aircraft, and Benjiro climbed in behind her.

They were buckled in and took off a moment later. Through the headset, she was given the situation. It was one of the horses bought from Caber’s stable and her first foaling. She wasn’t doing well.

Alita was experienced with horses but not the delivery portion of it, and they couldn’t get a hold of any large animal vets. There weren’t a lot that close to the city.

By the time they arrived, he had finished his explanation, and Olly pinpointed the barn and the lights.

She jumped out of the landed helicopter and ran across the field to the barn. The mare in distress was in there.

A young man looked at her and said, “You are Olly?”

“Yes, this will be a very formal delivery, and if they didn’t want me wrecking clothing, they should have thought about who I was, not what they wanted.” She said it while striding to the stall.

“I am Erik.”

“Pleased to meet you. Do you have a bucket I can scrub in?”

“I can do better once you are there.”

They got to the stall where the dark mare was pacing with her owner in front of her. “You are Alita?”

“Are you the vet?”

“Absolutely not, but I can help her get her baby out alive and well.”

“There are twins.”

She froze. “Oh. That is trickier, but I am here to try. Allow me to introduce myself to the patient, and then you can use dragon fire on my arms.”

His eyes went wide. “I thought I smelled dragon on you.”

“Not your kind, but yeah.”
