When she got there, Liv was in a white dress looking stressed. Violet jumped into action to help. The caterers hadn’t set up the dinner tables, so she had to do it. Plus, some of the lights didn’t work, so she fixed that too.

By the time Charlie got there, Violet was busy trying to make everything perfect in time for the rehearsal. Then, she realized he had Lauren with him, and it made her stress worse.

She hadn’t heard about Lauren at all - other than the fact Charlie didn’t see himself marrying her. Violet didn’t know what Lauren thought about the situation, but it couldn’t be good. Lauren had never liked her.

But Charlie didn’t talk or even look at Violet. She had expected maybe a hello or a wave, but he was so focused on Lauren that they didn’t even get one word in. It was a little worrying, and she knew all eyes were on them since they had fought at every event they were together at. The last thing she wanted was to have any issues when Liv looked as worried as she did.

The actual wedding rehearsal was one of the first things they did. They all got into position with Liv, Violet, Micah, and Liv’s sister walking down the aisle to meet Lewis, Charlie, Damon and eventually, Elijah.

Since Elijah had cancelled, another friend had to step in.

Violet went through the motions, but when they were standing at the altar, she could see Charlie looked nervous. She raised an eyebrow at him, but he wouldn’t look at her. She wondered if she had somehow pissed him off in the last hour, but they hadn’t talked.

When they had to walk down the aisle, Violet’s arms linked with his, the whole venue seemed to be watching them. “Jesus,” she muttered. “You’d think I was the bride.”

At least that got a smile out of Charlie. It didn’t last long, and it faded the very second he saw his girlfriend. Violet followed his gaze and saw Lauren looking murderous.

Violet immediately looked away. What the fuck was wrong with Lauren?

At dinner when the bridal party had separated, Lauren made a beeline for Charlie. Violet couldn’t walk away fast enough. She felt like the whole situation was a ticking time bomb.

Except when she walked away, she ran right into Liv, who grabbed Violet immediately.

“Hey," Liv said, her voice so sharp it almost hurt. “What’s wrong with Lauren?”

“I… I don’t know," Violet said.

“I don’t want any drama here. My family’s already caused enough and I don’t need them talking.”

“You want me to go try to fix it?”

“No! You’ll make it worse!” Liv snapped, but then she blinked. “I mean… maybe you should? Did you do anything?”

“No," Violet said, shaking her head.

“Oh God. I don’t know what to do. Why would he bring her if she’s mad?”

“I don’t know. He didn’t even tell me she was coming.”

Liv rubbed her temples. “Okay, I don’t think you going over there is going to help, but keep her from making a scene, okay? If you all are going to fight-”

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE’S LIVING WITH YOU?” Lauren yelled.

The entire venue went silent.

“Oh no," Violet said.

Liv looked pale. She glanced at Violet with wide eyes. “Is she talking about you?”

“I don’t know!” Violet hissed.

Lauren turned then, and her eyes found Violet’s in an instant. And Violet could feel the pure rage in it.

“Oh, she definitely is.”

“Take it outside!” Liv snapped. “We had a fucking deal!”

For a split second, Violet felt the pain of Liv’s tone. But she didn’t get to sit in that feeling long. Liv turned her around and pushed her towards Lauren and Charlie, the last two people she wanted to see.
