“You!” Lauren yelled at Violet.

“Outside. Now," Violet snapped right back.

Thankfully, instead of arguing, Charlie grabbed his girlfriend and headed for the door. Lauren ripped her arm out of his, and glared.

“Lauren,” Violet said, losing the battle of staying calm. “Whatever the fuck crawled up your ass will have to wait until we get outside, or I will drag you like a fucking toddler.”

Lauren looked at Charlie, who pointed at the door as well. Lauren looked like she wanted to stab them both, but she turned on her heel and stormed outside. Violet followed, feeling the cool air hit her as they all stepped outside of the venue where Lauren was waiting.

Lauren’s face was red and angry. She looked between the two of them with narrow, furious eyes.

“You’re living together?” She asked.

“You didn’t tell her?” Violet asked Charlie.

“She hasn’t talked to me in weeks,” he replied.

Before Violet could digest that, Lauren spoke again, “You should have told me before you decided to let her stay in your house like some half-baked prostitute!”

“Hey!” Violet barked. It was a voice she rarely used. “I understand you’re mad at your boyfriend but-“

“Oh, he is not my boyfriend.”

“Then what the fuck are you mad at?”

“I was invited weeks ago," Lauren said. “Watch your tone.”

“Yes, as a date. But if you’re not together, then there’s no reason for you to be mad at him!”

“Oh, you’re sticking up for him? You - really? Are you two sleeping together?”

“No!” Both Charlie and Violet yelled at the same time.

“I don’t believe you.”

“Jesus Christ, Lauren!” Violet yelled. “Why would you think that?”

“Because I don’t trust either of you.”

“Then why are you here? Go home and be insecure there! You don’t have to ruin someone else’s wedding rehearsal because you’re acting like a child!”

“You’re going to let her talk like that to me?” Lauren asked Charlie angrily.

Violet looked at him, wondering if he was about to turn on her for Lauren. She wouldn’t be surprised.

“You’re in the wrong Lauren.” Charlie sounded as annoyed as Violet felt.

“Oh, come on! I came here to be your date so you wouldn’t have to be alone, and this is how you treat me?”

“I would have been fine to come alone!” Charlie snapped. “You showed up here out of nowhere!”

“Wait, seriously?” Violet said.

“Watch what you say, bitch.”

“Lauren, enough!” Charlie yelled, his voice loud. Violet tensed, as if it was directed at her. But, for once, it wasn’t. “Go home. You’re obviously too upset to be here.”

“Me? I’m in the wrong here?”
