“I don’t want that to happen again.”

“Then… I guess I have to agree with Charlie. We will support you no matter what you do.”

Violet nodded, grateful for her friend’s understanding. “Thank you,” Violet replied. “It means a lot to me that you guys are willing to support me, even if I move.”

“I love you, Violet. You’re literally my best friend, and I want you to be happy.”

Violet could only nod, feeling almost overwhelmed with emotion for her best friend.

“God,” she said after a moment. “Enough about me. What else is going on? I need a distraction before I have this interview.”

“I think Lewis is finally done with Elijah,” Liv said.

“Really?”

“Yeah, he said he didn’t like that Elijah started something when there was finally peace, and Elijah never truly apologized.”

“He never does.”

“The worst thing I heard was Elijah say you deserved it.”

“I definitely didn’t.”

“No, you didn’t, and usually Lewis isn’t the type to argue with him, but he did. I think the smokescreen is finally cleared.”

“Good,” Violet said. “I don’t want to see him again. Ever.”

“Neither do I,” Liv said. “But you put him in his place.”

“I guess I did. I hate that I was a part of another fight at a party.”

“Psh, that wasn’t a fight. It was a complete takedown.”

“Still. Both Charlie and I earned a reputation, but I’m the one who can’t keep a level head.”

“Just because you didn’t take shit doesn’t mean you can’t keep a level head. He came at you with comments about your body.”

“That’s what I hate about Elijah. He goes places not even Charlie did. At least with Charlie it was petty shit that didn’t mean anything.”

“I don’t know about that. It may have been petty, but all your fighting did have a certain tone to it.”

“What kind of tone?”

“Micah said multiple times that you two should fuck and get over it already.”

“She what?”

“You both subtly complimented each other without complimenting each other, and there was a line neither of you crossed.”

“Ugh, well that’s embarrassing.”

“Sorry, girl. I never said anything because I think you would have killed me if I told you that you might have been attracted to him.”

“Yeah, I would’ve killed you.”

“Besides, what you were fighting about was serious. I didn’t want to belittle it. I know you had a serious grudge against him.”

“Yeah… even if it was Lauren.”
