There was a moment of silence before Luna said, “And I carried the rings.”

“Wait.” Billy shook his head. “Did you really? On a Monday morning?”

“Yes,” Hank confirmed.

“Holy shit!” Jimmy jumped off the barstool and pulled his brother into a hug.

Everyone else joined in, hugging the bride and groom.

Skylar explained that Hank surprised her and Ashley was in on it. She had Skylar’s sister, who was in art school, pretend that she needed to do a photo project of a bride on her wedding day so she asked Skylar to be her model. Got her all dressed up and went down to the courthouse where Hank was waiting with all the paperwork and the judge.

It didn’t surprise me that Hank and Skylar had basically eloped. I knew that Hank had been saying that he didn’t want any fuss and he sure as hell didn’t want any cameras at his wedding, since Billy’s had been a circus and pictures of Jimmy’s wedding had ended up in gossip magazines. But it did surprise me that he’d been so romantic about actually having the ceremony. I had no idea he had it in him. It just showed what being with the right person could bring out in you.

I whispered in Cheyenne’s ear. “We’re next.”

She turned and smiled up at me, beaming with joy. “Yes. We are.”
