Dex
I glancedat my reflection in the mirror. Dark hair, dark eyes, stubble on my chin. My body wasn't as broad as Bain's, but my chest and abs were just as chiseled. With my pants slung low on my hips, they showed the V and the flat of my stomach.
I looked tired. That wasn’t surprising. I lay awake half the night, tossing and turning, sweating under the weight of everything.
That started, as if often did, with the Alpha. Devlin was rightfully pissed Gwendolyn killed someone. Or he was just pissed there was a man in the room with her who wasn't him. Devlin didn't want her, but he didn't want anyone else to have her.
For a long time, the Alpha had locked his blue eyes on me. I waited for him to tell me he planned to replace me for failing to keep his wife safe. Replace me if I was lucky. Exile or execution if I wasn't.

Although, part of me hoped shewouldn'tchoose between us. Each of us had something to offer that the others couldn't.
