His hands twisted around his reins. “Harker!”

“Yes, Sire?” The wolf asked, trotting to his side.

“I want you to stay here until the troops arrive. They’re to control the fire, and make sure any survivors are found and either helped or taken care of. Is that understood?”

“Of course, Your Majesty.” The wolf gave him a nod and he turned his angry gaze to Andrea.

“You will return to the palace with me,” he demanded, turning Stormwind around.

“I was on my way to the Abbey to do some rese—”

“Youwillfollow me back to the palace.Now.”

He didn’t wait to see if she’d obey. They both knew there would be punishments galore if she failed to comply with a direct order. He was still her king after all. Riding back up the hill, he kept a slow enough pace that she could meet it, and she cantered up beside him.

“You need to find the source of this plague, Andrea. We’ve lost too many people. Our peace is in danger. I will not have my subjects decimated by this,” he snarled at her. “Find the cure or find me someone else who can do the job. Just get me answers.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.” She said, nodding her head,

“I don’t want to hear yes, or I will try. I want to hear that you’ve found the answer,” he growled.

“I believe I am close, My King.” She called out over the din of the wind racing past them. “That is why I was going to the Abbey. It has knowledge that may be the key.”

Erik winced. “Fine. Go. Finish your journey.” He waved a hand dismissing her and she broke off from his path back to the palace.

There had to be an answer for this plague, an answer for the attack. There had to be something out there to make it all make sense.
