I hadn’t chased as much as I would have normally because I knew she was extra busy overseeing a big make-up launch we had this morning and I needed her to be focused. But when I’d called the office at lunchtime to find out how it had gone, they’d said she’d left early because she didn’t feel well. I texted her to see if we could speak. She’d eventually replied hours later saying she was too ill and promised to call first thing. I wanted to be sympathetic—after all, she couldn’t help being sick—but I really couldn’t wait any longer. By hook or by crook we’dhaveto speak tomorrow. My gut said something was off, but Robyn had always been so reliable and competent. It just didn’t make sense.

Lorenzo groaned again.

I continued sliding him in and out.

He seemed to be enjoying it, which was a relief. It’d been a while since I’d done this, so I was bound to be rusty.

How was Leo? I hoped he was okay. Fingers crossed Marta had found everything he needed.Did I pack enough milk?

Lorenzo’s body began to tremble and he raised his hips, pushing himself deeper in my mouth.

Jesus.

I couldn’t be thinking about our son’s overnight bag when Lorenzo was on the verge of coming. That was just wrong. On so many levels. I needed to focus.

‘Sophia…’ Lorenzo gasped. I knew what he was going to say. He was about to explode. He wanted to ask if it was okay if he did it in my mouth or if he should release elsewhere. I nodded, giving him the green light to continue.

Hmmm. In hindsight, that probably wasn’t the best idea. I’d no idea if there was weeks or months of build-up that was about to erupt.

Actually, I was being silly. That would be impossible. Lorenzo wouldn’t have been able to survive that long. He would have relieved himself. I’d imagine it would be uncomfortable otherwise. Surely that wouldn’t be healthy.

It’d be fine.

Lorenzo squeezed his eyes shut. Yep. It was going to happen any second now.

Just as he let out a loud groan, I heard a bang, then the room lit up.

Something must have fallen in here, or in the kitchen.

The kitchen.

Like a flash of light, it hit me.

Milk!

I’d forgotten to pack Leo’s milk.

I hadn’t taken it out of the fridge.

Bollocks.

How could I forget something so bloody important? That should have been the first thing I’d checked.

Fuck.

I had to take it to Marta’s. Leo couldn’t miss his feed. Lorenzo would have to come in his hands or something.

Just as I slid Lorenzo out of my mouth, he exploded all over me.

Whoa.

I stand corrected. Maybe Lorenzohadn’tbeen doing himself. It went on my face, on my dressing gown… I knew it’d been a while, but I don’t remember himeverejaculating this much. It was like a missile had sprayed a round of bullets.

Just as I wiped my right cheek and some drops of spunk fell on the floor, there was a loud scream. It was too high-pitched to be Lorenzo. It was also so bright. As I came to my senses and brought my mind fully back into the room, I realised the flash of light wasn’t in my head. The lights were actually on.

Because someone had turned them on.

But it wasn’t me and it certainly wasn’t Lorenzo.
