“I’m sorry. I’m nervous,” I huffed. “This feels like a big night for me.”
“It’s a big night for all of us,” Jade stated, leading us out of the room.
Walking out to the VIP section, I spot Logan across the deck. Gazing at him from a distance, he’s dressed in a dark navy blue vintage-looking suit and cream-colored shirt that pairs perfectly with my dress.
He always seemed to coordinate perfectly with my dress when we had school dances. I never understood how he did it?
Watching him talk with Anne Marie and the guys it warms my heart to see him amongst my friends.
As if he sensed I was looking, his eyes drew in my direction. Pushing off the deck railing the moment he sees me, Logan stands taller, prouder than I ever seen him.
“Are you wearing a tux?”
He laughs, and the sound sends a fluttering to my chest. "Can't a guy dress up for his lady?” He says, walking towards me.
Gazing into Logan’s light brown eyes, he’s looking at me and instead of shying away, I feel confident, wild, and free, sexually I haven’t ever felt this way before.
“You look incredible,” he says smoothly, his mouth hitching up in a sexy grin. “This,” he says, looking at me in my dress. “This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen on a woman,” he whispered in my ear.
Holding my breath with anticipation, I couldn’t stop the smile that spread across my lips. “Thank you, you don’t look so bad yourself.”
Waving off my comment, he chuckled. “This old thing.”
Tears stung at my eyes but I refused to cry at a time like this.He’s just as nervous as I am.
Pressing my lips together, I shook my head with amusement.
Reaching for my free hand, Logan brought one to his mouth. Kissing it softly, he whispered. “Shall we?”
When Logan spoke, I suddenly lost my train of thought. My brain knew the words I wanted to say, but my lips forgot how to say them, so instead, I nod.
Looking over at my friends, they too seemed happier tonight. Taylor was with Bradly and Jade was now with Seth. For how long, no one knows, but I couldn’t help but feel like tonight was about to change everything, not just for me but all of them too.
