Using me for support, Stephanie slowly pushes to her feet. Taking it slowly, she transfers from the lounge chair back to the comfort of her wheelchair.

Breaking away from the group, Stephanie and I take our time walking back to her cabin.

“I had a really enjoyable time,” Stephanie whispers at my side but doesn’t look up.

“Me too,” I sighed.

“I don’t want the night to end,” she confesses, a slight frown marring her face.

Brushing my knuckles along the angle of her smooth jaw, I replied, “Neither do I,” I admit.

“Come inside,” she says, stealing my hand as she tugged me out of the hallway.

Closing the door behind us, we stood there, staring at each other, the silence somehow comfortable and awkward all at once. Not missing the way her nerves are getting to her, I can’t help but ask, “What are we doing, Steph?”

“I think you know,” she whispers, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

Knowing how important this moment was to us, I really wanted everything to be perfect. Unsure what to say, I wet my lips after a long pause.

Pulling her in for a kiss, I wondered how we’ve stayed away from each for so long? Folding my arms around her, I drew Stephanie even closer as I swallowed my next breath.

Without hesitation, I stepped forward, sliding my hand along her jaw and holding her firmly as my mouth covered hers. Kissing her like it’s the first and last time I’ll get the chance. The words, “I love you,” tumbled out of my mouth. “I think I always have,” I admitted, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.

One of her hands went to my chest, and I wondered if she could feel the thunderous applause of my heart. “I love you too, Logan,” she says, her eyes searching mine.

Without a word, she runs her palms up my chest, my neck, then combs her fingers through my hair. Without hesitation, I kiss Stephanie again. This time, the kiss is less rushed. More tender.

A groan builds in my chest as I run a hand down the side of her leg, then hoist it up to hook my hip. Stephanie moans against my lips, my dick’s on the cusp of tearing my slacks before we hear the keycard beep on the other side of the door.Taylor. Our lips break apart on a gasp and I inch back. Chest heaving, she looks up and not a second later, Taylor walks in.

???

Letting the night air cool my face, it takes a while to drag myself back to my room after a night like this. Smirking to myself, a flash of Stephanie’s flush cheeks at dinner crosses my thoughts. The way her warm, slender fingers wove through mine as we sat across from each other at the table, and the way it felt to hold her in my arms as I pulled her in closer for a hug good night. Her sweet perfume invaded my senses when I leaned in to kiss her one last time before we ended the night.

In the last couple of days, Stephanie has become such a fixture in my head, she’s in every waking and sleeping - thought I have. Just reminiscing about her knowing she’s on the ship just one deck below me, leaves me needing a cold shower in order to get some sleep. Getting into bed, I couldn’t help but feel differently after tonight.

Stephanie loves me.

Closing my eyes, I see the gold flecks of Stephanie’s olive irises dancing in my mind.

How I wish she was lying next to me.I smile, envisioning the spot beside me occupied by her warm body.

Maybe in due time.
