It was my turn to look away. “Honestly?” I said with a sigh. “I think I’m still in love with him,” I admitted. “I think I always have been.”

“And what about Logan? Do you think he feels the same way?” Jade pressed.

“That’s just the thing. I think he does, but I’m afraid to say anything. There’s too much to risk if he doesn’t.”

“But then you’d know,” Taylor whispered.

“Yeah,” I sighed. “But at least this way, we kind of have a relationship. If I tell him how I feel, he might stop coming around and I’d miss out on spending time with him.”

“I don’t know. I’ve seen the way he looks at you, and I don’t think he’ll react the way you think he will.”

“You think so?” I asked, wondering if Logan and I could really have a chance this time around?

???

We had already eaten lunch, had our nails done, got facials, and now we were currently getting massages when I could have sworn I heard my phone ringing in the distance. “Was that my phone ringing?” I asked, popping up.

“I can’t hear anything over Jade’s moaning,” Taylor teased.

“I’m sorry, but I seriously needed these kinks worked out,” she laughed, playfully whipping a towel in Taylor’s direction.

“Maybe it was wishful thinking,” I relented. “Has anyone else’s cell reception been spotty since we boarded?”

“Mine’s been acting up but I’ve gotten around it by using facetime,” Taylor said.

“What about you Jade?”

“I’ve got mine on do not disturb,” she laughed. “Ain’t no one ruining this trip for me. I’ve earned time off.”

“Well, I haven’t received a single call the entire time we’ve been aboard. I’m starting to get concerned,” I said, my thoughts leading me astray.

“I’m sure Ashlynne’s just letting you have some uninterrupted fun.”

“You think so? I have this feeling that something isn’t right,” I confess, worrying my brow.

“I’m sure you’re just overthinking things again, Steph,” Jade sighs, as someone enters the room.

“Excuse me, ladies,” the young woman says politely interrupting us. “But there’s a man at the front desk looking for Stephanie Grace.”

Quickly sitting up I glanced between the girls to prove a point. “I’m Stephanie Grace,” I announced, as my masseuse excused herself.

Crossing the room, she held out a note on the Ocean Tides stationary. “He asked me to pass this message along.”

Struck with curiosity, I took the note.

“Keep us in suspension why don’t you,” Jade says, while I quickly skimmed the message.

“Is everything okay?” Taylor worried as the other two masseuses excused themselves from the room.

“It’s from Brad.”

“From Brad?” Taylor made a face. “Why’s he sending you messages?”

Amused by her display of jealousy, it was clearer now more than ever Taylor held something for Brad. “It says that Logan’s been trying to get in contact with me. He’s doing a practice run in Opa’s kitchen and is inviting us all to attend,” I explained, watching the way Taylor noticeably relaxed with the explanation.

“Huh,” Taylor smirks, clearly embarrassed over her actions. “That makes sense,” she barely whispers.

“So, you can be at ease Taylor,” Jade chuckled.
