“That’s not fair. Tess and her band of mean girls were usually there and would have laughed it up at my expense if they saw me in a bathing suit and you know it,” I said, an awkward silence descended, making the air feel as if the oxygen had been sucked out of it.

Leaning back against the lounger, Logan finally spoke. “She was pretty bad, wasn’t she?” He said, shaking his head while running a hand over it. “You know the guys weren’t any better.”

My stomach churns, so I take a sip of my mimosa in hopes it’ll settle. “Oh, I remember,” I huffed. “You were the only good thing about going to that school,” I let slip.

Shit, did I just say that out loud? These mimosas are like truth serum.

Peering at Logan over my glass, his eyes made me feel like they were looking into my soul just now. This wasn’t the first time I felt like this when Logan looked at me and there’s no point in denying the connection we still share.

Realizing I was staring, Logan eased my worry with a smile. “So, that’s a no on the lotion?”

“Yes, that would be a no,” I smirked.

“Alright. I offered,” he said, removing his phone from his pocket. “Well, that’s Bradly. He’s on his way,” Logan says. “But I’ll catch up with you ladies later on tonight?” He asked.

“Sounds good,” I nodded. Bradly appeared behind him.

“Mornin’ ladies,” he says smoothly, his eyes wandering towards Taylor with interest.

I watched her blush when hers locked with his. “So Bradly, have you met Taylor?” I asked, trying to make introductions.

Lowering her glasses to peg me with a look, I gave her one of my own. “Nice to meet you,” she said, pressing her lips together, as I warned her to ‘play nice’.

Hiding his smile, Logan pats Bradly roughly on the shoulder. “We should probably get going,” he said.

He laughs casually. “Right,” Bradly replied, snapping out of his trance.
