Chapter Nine

____________

Charlie

This is it. I am seconds away from being Mrs. Charlene Lane. I glance over at my sisters. Every one of them is beautiful but different. I love the time I got to spend with them planning this. Even if it was something of a rush job, I think we pulled off the perfect day. I look to my left and see Willa standing in a big puffy dress with diamond accents dripping off it. It’s not gaudy or anything. In fact, it's the exact opposite, it makes her look like a fairy or something with tons of glittering lights around her when she moves. Her bouquet is made up of pink flowers with little pearls nestled in the centers of some of them.

I look down at my dress. It's simple but wonderful. I've never worn anything so elegant and pretty. I don't have a lot of lace or frills on my gown because that's not me. Just clean straight lines with simple flourishes. It's my jewelry that makes me stand out and the things I am wearing under the gown. Oh and my bouquet which is a big spray of blue flowers, darker royal blue roses on the outside and on the inside lighter blue flowers the color of Bastian's eyes...and hair. White baby’s breath is peppered through the whole thing and just seeing it makes me happy.

Underneath all the simple white I have on matching blue panties that I can't wait to show off to the man who will be my husband by the end of the day. I can tell one of the things that do it for Sebastian is the fact I get a little naughty with my underwear. He's mentioned several times that he won't let me out of his sight knowing I have on what I do under my jeans or leggings. I smile at the way he goes all caveman over what only he ever sees.

"Thank you." The words have me jerking back to the present and staring at Hadden on my other side.

"For what?"

"For always looking out for me. For us. For taking care of us even though sometimes that wasn't the easiest thing to do. You could have told all of us to fuck off but instead, you were always there for me when I needed you so... thank you."

I fight back tears that want to run down my cheeks. Her words mean so much to me. I'm surprised when Teddy picks up where Hadden left off.

"You always have my back and never tell me what I do or how I say something is stupid."

"She's come to me in the middle of the night when I needed her," Willa speaks up about the time I flew out to be with her when some other model was cruel to her and upset her so badly.

"She's the best sister a girl could ever ask for." Payton comes over to me and throws the arm she isn't holding her bouquet with around me. "I love you, Charlie. You really are the best sister ever!"

All the girls surround me and offer me one big hug. Thankfully my mascara is waterproof or else I would look like a raccoon walking down the aisle because they are making me cry and making my heart so full I don't think I can take it.

"I love you all. Each one of you has made my life...so much more...it's perfect and it's because of you guys."

I look at every one of them and see that they have tears leaking out too. Thank God for good makeup or we would look like a group of professional wrestlers coming out of the ring instead of five brides walking to their destinies.

"Okay, okay, okay. Let's get this thing started. I want to get to the wedding night already." I am only half-joking because I am very ready to be back in our cute little house by the ocean and the deck where we seem to like to go to make love.

They laugh at what I said and Hadden squares her shoulders and shimmies a little, "Then let's go get our men, ladies."

The doors open and we step out at the same time making our way down a carpet littered with rose petals. It's wider than the usual wedding runner because all five of us have to walk down it. And at the end, stands my man. He may be wearing a tux and putting on a good show but he's still my blue-haired bad boy and I can tell when I get him home he's going to let all of this melt away so I get the real him.

Time slips by as quickly as the sun sets and before I know it, I'm a married woman and out on the dance floor with all my sisters. We laugh and hug and drink...well, not Payton or Willa or Teddy but the rest of us make up for it for them. After a while, I start to realize that more and more of my sisters have snuck off. Teddy being the first one, then Willa, then Hadden. Payton is so wrapped up in Ford that she might as well be gone.

Arms wrap around me, and lips find the soft skin just below my ear. I wore my hair up for the day and I've noticed it has afforded Bastian easier access to my neck. I spin so that I can wrap my arms around my husband. We sway back and forth even though we aren't technically on the dance floor.

"Looks like it's just you and me." His comment takes me back to the first time I finally got to talk to the town's new bad boy.

"That didn't turn out bad for me last time at all." I watch as his mouth widens into a bigger smile. "Turns out I wouldn't want it any other way."

Just me and him. Together. Forever.
