“I’m ready to see your new lounge anyway. Amill is meeting us there. I just came to pick you up. How was Q able to respond to me, and he’s the one rehearsing? But you haven’t opened a message all day,” Jameera rambled.

“I’ve been busy,” I laughed.

“Well, Xain, I regret to inform you that Khaleesi will not be sitting in the studio with y’all tonight. She is coming out with us now that rehearsal is over. We will make sure she gets home safely,” Jameera informed her.

“Where are y’all going?” Xain inquired.

“Yasmeen’s. I heard our generous queen Khaleesi added a few vegan options to the menu, and I want to try them out before the masses.”

“Alright, Duke is driving y’all, though,” Xain demanded, waving Duke over.

“They are going to Yasmeen’s. Make sure they get home safely.”

“I got them,” Duke assured him.

Xain pecked my lips, and I shoved the box into his hands. “Make sure the rest of these make it home, please,” I requested.

“I’ll hide them in your room so the boys don’t get to them.”

“Thank you,” I chirped.

He kissed me again, and we were off. Jameera was giddy as fuck, and I knew it was about more than the charges being dropped. I waited patiently until I was away from Duke’s ears to ask. We all knew whatever we discussed in front of him would be reported back.

When we pulled into the parking lot, Amill’s misty blue Benz was parked in the owner’s spot on the side of the building. We took that title seriously when it came to the perks, but not the work. Stepp and Xain ran the lounge like a well-oiled machine; we hosted cute events and worked with the interior designer on the decor. Everything else was on the men.

Duke stopped the truck in front of the entrance.

“I’ll let you guys out here. It looks like it’s about to rain. I’ll park and be inside shortly,” he explained, helping us out of the truck.

“No, you can stay in the truck. We won’t be long. You are only here as the designated driver. We will be fine,” I informed him.

“Alright. Holler if you need me,” Duke replied.

We strutted inside, and Ashley, the hostess, immediately greeted us with a smile.

“Good evening, ladies. How are you today?”

“Blessed,” Jameera chirped.

“I’m fine, thank you. Is Amill at our favorite table?”

“She is,” Ashley confirmed.

I pulled Jameera towards the table, and Amill already had our drinks and a few appetizers waiting.

“You know us too well,” I bubbled, slipping into the booth opposite Amill.

Jameera slid in beside her, and I got right to it. “Spill it. The charges being dropped isn’t the only thing that has you all giddy and shit.”

“It’s not. I have been waiting to tell Amill in person. Caroline Russel reached out today to confirm the approval of our fall collaboration!” She squealed.

“Are you serious?” Amill screeched.

I was still in the dark, but the excitement bubbling within them was electrifying.

“Who is Caroline Russel?” I inquired once they calmed down a bit. Hell, I wanted to be excited too.

“She is the representative from Nike! The deal was on hold due to all of the bad publicity, but we are back on now that the charges were dropped. We are going to do a collab with them and be able to go into Nike stores and see pieces we designed on display!”
