“We want to get an idea of what Gus was like,” Maverick said.
“He was like any dad. Protective of his daughter. He taught us how to hunt, how to hide. How to shoot guns. He taught us absolutely everything we know. He always believed that anyone who was with Morwenna knew how to take care of themselves, and also to look after her. It was his number one priority.”
He would go away many times with Gus and Morwenna, while Willow would stay behind. At first, he wasn’t interested in the camping trips, but as soon as Gus allowed him to play with his gun and go hunting, he was more than happy to oblige, and it turned out to be a lot of fun.
“Gus is a good guy,” he said. “What is the meaning of all this?”
Maverick shook his head. “You can go.”
“Seriously, you’re not going to tell me what the fuck is going on?” Bolt asked.
“It’s not time for you to know. Go.”
Bolt gritted his teeth as Venom didn’t even look smug. There was no emotion on his face, and it pissed him off. His anger went from zero to a hundred, but he didn’t say anything. He stormed out of his father’s office, and King was on the way into the office.
He ignored him and made his way straight toward the bar. He took a seat, and Rose, Diesel’s wife, was behind it, and she offered him a smile, told him it was going to be all right, and to have a stiff drink. She poured him a whiskey, and without another word, he knocked it back and let out a wince. It was strong stuff, and not exactly the good stuff, but it hit the mark for what he needed.
He let out a little wince, and then had her fill the glass up again. As soon as it was full, he knocked it back, and after two whiskeys, they did the trick in getting his anger under control. He took a deep breath, and he should have known Star would not be far away. She was like a rash that just wouldn’t stop.
“Hey, handsome,” she said.
She was always nipping at him, like a determined puppy, and it was starting to grate on his last nerve.
“What do you want?”
“You look a little ... tense.”
He turned to look at her. “We’re trapped here, with no way the fuck out. Do you think I’m going to be happy about anything, and when it comes to our kids, you treat them like shit, Star, and I don’t like it. Morwenna even treats them with more fucking respect.” He was pissed off with how his life had turned out. It was never meant to come to this. Bolt held up his glass and Rose made her way back to him, pouring out another shot glass, while at the same time glaring at Star.
He never realized how many people hated Star. None of them liked her, but he didn’t know if that was his fault, seeing as he’d slept with her behind Morwenna’s back. Just thinking about Morwenna, he missed her so freaking much. Star didn’t look anything like her, but she was into him.
Morwenna was never coming back. He didn’t want to accept that reality, but it was the truth, and there was no way he could escape it. Morwenna was gone, and he wasn’t going to get her back, and he fucking hated the world.
Stuck in the clubhouse, drinking whiskey, with a perfectly sexy woman. Star wanted him. She kept biting her bottom lip, and he couldn’t ignore the way she was dressed. She looked a little disheveled, which told him she’d not long been with another club brother. That should sicken him. It didn’t. He’d been avoiding her, because he knew how easy it was to fall down that slippery slope of disaster, and he’d been intent on winning back Morwenna. What was the point, when his wife didn’t want anything to do with him? There was no point.
He finished off his whiskey, and he knew no one would stop him as he grabbed Star and started to drag her back to his room. A room he’d shared so many times with Morwenna. Bolt pushed all that shit to the back of his mind as it wasn’t worth remembering. Morwenna wasn’t here. Star was.
She was the one that panted for his cock, and as he pushed her up against the door, he pressed his face against her neck. She let out a little gasp, and her hands were all over him. “That’s it,” she said. “Come back to me, Bolt.” She moaned. “You know how much I love your cock.”
“Stop talking.”
He was tempted to put his hand over her mouth. Tonight, he didn’t want her trained porno language. He just wanted to fuck, and the truth was, he wanted to forget it was Star and imagine he was sinking into his wife’s body. It was a waste of time, he knew that, but it was better than nothing. Also, he really needed to empty his balls, so why not use a willing woman like Star? She loved to take cock, and she told him on more than one occasion that she considered herself an expert. Of course, this always ended up with her laughing as she did so.
“You’re so tense,” she said, running her hands all over his back. “I think you need to relax.”
“Can you shut the fuck up?” he asked.
“I’ve got something and it will help you relax. You just need to spread a little on your gums and around your mouth.” She reached into her pocket.
“What is this?” Bolt asked.
“Just an herbal remedy.”
“Star, that looks like drugs.”
“It’s not drugs. Do you think I’m that stupid?” she asked. “We both know what you want, and you want to be with Morwenna, right?”
He looked at her, because he’d known how jealous she was of Morwenna. She wanted him to divorce his wife and live with her. He knew she wanted to be an old lady. Bolt always ignored her. He never gave her the time of day, especially about being an old lady.
