“She’s still married.”
“She’s mine,” Venom said. “She would have been mine.” He hated that right now, there was a fucking threat to the club, and that was going to put her in danger. It pissed him the fuck off.
“Don’t hurt her too bad.”
“I have to.” He took a step back, and he hated himself. But right now, to keep her alive, he needed to be cruel. He made his way to his bike, and he pulled up Diesel’s name on his phone.
“What’s up, man?” Diesel asked, sounding a little hesitant.
“I need you to do me a favor. Text me a bunch of points in terms of dollars for fucking and sleeping with women,” Venom asked. “Also, state it’s five hundred bucks to bag a man’s wife. A thousand bucks to take Morwenna.”
“What the fuck?”
“I need you to do this for me, and I’ll give you a thousand bucks, how is that for a deal?”
“This sounds super fucked up, Venom, even for you. I don’t like it.”
“If you do this, you might be saving her life,” Venom said.
He knew Diesel wasn’t happy, but after a few seconds, the club brother agreed. He hung up and waited a few moments for the texts to come rolling in. They made him feel disgusted. Morwenna was worth so much more than a thousand bucks, but right now, he needed to break her to the point she went home to Gus. He couldn’t have her staying at the clubhouse, nor alone. She needed to be back with her parents.
He hated himself for it. Once the texts had finished coming in, he made his way toward the ranch, and he did so, feeling like shit.
He loved Morwenna. She meant everything to him, and the last couple of weeks together had been the best—even before they had sex and were just friends. He never hung out with girls he considered friends.
The drive to the ranch didn’t take as long as he hoped it would. He wanted time to stand still. To not have to worry about doing what he was about to do.
He parked his bike and made his way to the front porch. Morwenna had already started to talk about putting up Christmas decorations. It was fucking insane how early it was, and she wanted to talk decorations. It wasn’t even Thanksgiving. He might not be alive come Thanksgiving.
Opening the front door, he heard a moan and made his way into the kitchen, where he found her with her head tilted back and several swabs of blood-soaked cotton on the counter.
“I’m so sorry. This is so not attractive, and trust me, I get it. It’s incredibly gross, but this is what I need to do.” She wrinkled her nose. “Can you believe Star wanted to fight me?” She shook her head. “I was not interested in fighting her, but she seemed determined to want to fight me, and it makes absolutely no sense at all.” She let out a chuckle. “Are you all right?”
She had the start of a black eye, and her lip was split. Her nose wasn’t broken either.
“I know, I look horrible.”
He wanted to go and hurt Star for even touching her. It pissed him off.
“I’m going back to the clubhouse,” Venom said.
Morwenna paused.
He’d changed his tone and continued to glare at her.
“Venom, what’s going on?”
“Simple, I got what I wanted out of you, and seeing as it’s no longer any fun, it’s time to move on.”
“Got what you wanted?” Morwenna asked, and he saw she’d gone pale.
“You didn’t think this was real, did you?” Venom asked, with a laugh. “Please, it was all a joke. A bet. I wanted to earn some quick money, and the guys said if I fucked you, I’d make the easiest thousand bucks going. It took a little time, but that’s what I got.”
“You ... this was all a lie?” Morwenna asked.
He let out a tsking sound. “You’re not exactly the best judge of character, are you? Your husband’s been fucking around on you for years, and he’s got three kids that you were too fucking blind to see.” He let out a little shrug.
“Get out,” Morwenna said.
