“Yeah, I know.”

“Yes, yes, fuck me harder, please. Yes, that’s it, give me that big fat cock.”

She looked toward Venom, and his brows went up.

“Do you think we should try to compete?” Venom asked.

“Compete?”

He moved against the wall, and she burst out laughing as he started to shove his ass against the wall, letting out a groan. She was mortified and entertained at the same time. There was no bed in the apartment, so she moved to the wall and copied him, only making moaning sounds as they did so, drowning out the other couple until there was no more noise.

“I think this apartment is a complete no,” he said.

She crossed off the reading and made her way outside, just as the real estate agent came rushing back in with a cell phone in her hand.

“This one is a no,” she said.

They were walking out the door, and Morwenna froze as she watched Bolt come out of the room, along with Star. They hadn’t seen them, and Morwenna was shocked to watch the two embrace and kiss.

The couple that had been fucking next door were her husband and his mistress.

Morwenna looked, and she snorted.

“I think it is time you signed those divorce papers,” Morwenna said, walking past them. Venom was behind her.

“Shit, fuck, Wen, you were not supposed to see that.”

She rushed down the stairs, feeling her heart shatter. He wouldn’t sign the fucking divorce papers, and he was still hooking up with a woman who had three of his children. It was laughable. She hated this. She hated him so much.

Tears blurred her vision because it hurt that he could still go around doing what he did, and she had to uproot her whole life. She was hunting for homes or apartments, and her blog was suffering because of him.

Her feet suddenly fell from underneath her, and if it wasn’t for Venom who caught her, she would have fallen down the last couple of stairs. His sheer strength shocked her, and she was grateful as they made it to the ground, and he pressed her up against the wall. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine. I’m fine.”

“Wen, come on, we need to talk.”

She looked at Venom, with his blue eyes. She never noticed before just how blue they were. They were so sharp, so bright, so blue. They kind of reminded her of the ocean. Clear and sharp. She didn’t need to talk. She didn’t need to do anything.

“Can we go?” she asked.

Venom nodded, and he held her arm, but it wasn’t too tight as he moved her outside, and they headed toward her car.

“Venom, fucking stop, that is my wife.”

“I am not your wife,” Morwenna said, turning on her heel. “You’re still screwing her. You’re refusing to divorce me but you’re still screwing her. You have three kids, you piece of shit.”

She pulled away from Venom and she slammed her hands against Bolt’s chest. He tried to reach for her, and in the past year, she had walked away. She chose not to engage. It hurt to walk away. He hurt her. Every single time she thought about him, it hurt.

Pulling her hand back, she didn’t keep it open, but slammed her fist against his face, and Bolt pulled back, his hand going to his face.

“I hate you. You need to sign those divorce papers, and if you had any love for me or respect, you would do that.”

She was shaking and she reached into her bag, grabbing her keys, but Venom took them from her and forced her to climb into the passenger side. She didn’t argue with him, because she hit Bolt, and she never believed in violence. She felt sick to her stomach. It was awful, and she hated herself.

Venom slid the key into the ignition and they pulled out of the parking lot, and she couldn’t bring herself to look back at Bolt. She was a horrible person. Hitting him was not going to solve her problems. None of this was going to help.

Her hands still continued to shake, then she felt the tears.
