I was well aware of that. What did catch me off guard was the surprise in her voice. Like she couldn’t believe he’d ever been with me.

“So is Lucy,” Amber said.

I smiled at Amber, but Riley was probably right. It was shocking Colin had ever been with me, though it felt like a lifetime ago.

Riley nodded excessively. “No, I know. I totally think you’re beautiful. I just didn’t expect him to be so…”

“I know.” I tried to smile but fell short.

Amber reached for my hand. “So, are we switching resorts?”

I laughed. “Yes please.”

She nodded. “Okay, we’ll just all get refunds and find another place with availability.”

I shrugged. “Perfect, that sounds easy.”

She laughed and tugged me until I fell into her arms. She wrapped her arms around me and squeezed. “I’m sorry. We’ll make sure he stays away from you.”

“Why would you want to stay away from a man like that?” Riley asked.

“He’s a liar and a cheat,” Elena said, and Riley narrowed her eyes.

“Maybe he’s changed.”

“I wish that were the case, but I doubt it.”

“Fine.” She shrugged but I caught her locking eyes with Elena like she was already up to something.

I shook it off and turned back to Amber. “I’m sorry, this weekend isn’t about me. I doubt we’ll see him again.” I put an arm around her and squeezed. “Let’s just focus on having fun and celebrating this weekend for our amiga.”

She squeezed me back, concern for me still lurking in her eyes.

I got a few nods, but I had a feeling they were each conspiring some plot. I’d have to keep my guard up and pray we didn’t run into him.

The girls had been at work and it was only eight in the morning. They knocked on my door and charged in the second I had it cracked open.

“We have news.” Chloe was beaming, far too happy for how early it was.

“Go away.” Grant groaned and covered his face with a pillow.

I felt bad for my roommate for about two seconds then got over it. “What did you find out?”

Madi was bouncing on her feet. “She’s staying in this building! Just one floor up.”

I narrowed my eyes. Did I want to know how they figured that out? Probably not. I’d be able to plead ignorance later.

“That’s not all. They’re going on the snorkeling excursion today.”

I fell back on my bed with my eyes closed and groaned. “What am I supposed to do with that information?”

Footsteps sounded on the tile floor around me. I opened one eye to see all five women staring down at me with varying levels of excitement.

“You’re going to get dressed, get something to eat, and get your butt on that boat,” Kendall said.
