I glared at her. When had she become so bossy? The other women had trained her already.

“I can’t spend six hours on a boat with her. What if she throws me overboard? Or feeds me to sharks?”

Emma was the only one that looked slightly sympathetic. Or maybe the sorrow in her blue eyes was just morning sickness.

Chloe leaned over me. “You never got over Lucy.”

She said it as a fact, I didn’t bother arguing. There was no winning with her, plus this time she was right.

“This is your chance. You made mistakes when you were younger.”

“It’s been five years, Colin.” Colby cut in. I wondered how much she knew. How much they all knew about my relationship with Lucy.

“I know how long it’s been.” I nearly growled the words.

Must. Not. Take. Out. Frustration. On. Them.

Breathe.

“Maybe she’s had enough time to heal, to forgive you.” Colby’s voice was much softer this time.

Emma sat down and grabbed my hand. “I know how hurt and sad you were. I remember. I know seeing her is a shock, but you can’t believe it’s just coincidence you two ended up in the same city at the same resort at the same time. There’s just no way. This is your chance.”

Her eyes glistened, and I blamed the hormones. The woman was crying all the time these days, but that didn’t completely negate what she said. As much as I didn’t want to admit it, there was just no way Lucy and I running into each other was a fluke.

“Fine,” I said. “I’ll go, but please promise me you guys will leave her alone? I don’t want you hounding her.”

They each looked at each other as if they were having a silent conversation. After a moment, they nodded.

“Good, now let me get ready.”

“Finally,” Grant grumbled.

Madi picked up a pillow form my bed and threw it at him. “Get up, lazy butt.”

He pulled the blanket over himself in response.

The girls turned together and were on the way out when a knock sounded. Kendall was closest, so she opened the door.

“Hi babe.” Kendall beamed.

Hartman stepped in and kissed her on the cheek. “Hi ladies.”

He nodded like it was completely normal for all of them to be hanging out in the two single guys’ room.

“The team is already down at the gym,” Harman said, looking at me and then Grant. “You guys need to get down there.”

I looked at the lump on the other bed. “Good luck getting him up.”

The girls laughed and walked out, probably off to do more scheming.

Hartman walked to Grant and swatted him, using his famous slap shot technique. “Up. Now.”

Grant howled but rolled over and stood up.

“We’ll be right down.” I assured our captain and moved to get my clothes together.

Hartman nodded. “We’ll be done in time to grab some food before you guys go snorkeling.”
