Margery giggled as she watched both of them go back and forth. Both of them looked at her and smiled. Instantly, she hid behind Daddy once again.

“Look, you did it again, scaring her. You really need to stop doing that. Maybe we should put a mask over your face, and she would be less scared,” Clinton quipped.

She peeked her head around Daddy’s body to see them looking at each other again.

“Let’s go get some food. How about mac and cheese?” Daddy asked.

Margery looked up and nodded. Mac and cheese was absolutely amazing. Especially when she got the ratio just right, and it was creamy and delicious.

“Don’t get used to eating mac and cheese every day. You’ll be having balanced meals, but I figured today was a good day to have it,” Daddy said as they walked further into the kitchen.

She was still holding his hand and pouting. If she had it her way, she would have mac and cheese every day. With chicken nuggies as well.

So good.

“No pouting. You won’t get your way if you do that.”

She sucked her lip back in.No fair.

“If you ever want mac and cheese and your Daddy won’t allow you to have it, come to me. I’ll make you some,” Clinton offered.

She looked over, and Clinton gave her a smile.

“You won’t be doing that, Little girl. When Daddy says no, he means no.” Daddy looked stern.

Clinton shook his head. “Come to me,” he mouthed to her.

Margery gave a small smile back. “Chickie nuggies?”

“I don’t have any right now, but I’ll remember them for next time. I’m sorry, Little one,” Daddy sadly said.

“Actually.” Dahmere stood from his chair.

She immediately moved closer to Daddy when she realized just how tall Dahmere was. Not only was he muscular, but he was also freakishly tall.

“Sorry, Little one.” Dahmere held up his hands. “I didn’t mean to scare you.”

“Find another nickname,” Daddy growled.

“See, I told you it was you who scared her,” Clinton said. “Maybe you should pay attention to what I say more often.”

Dahmere glared at Clinton who grinned back at him.

“Never,” he spat.

“We’ll see.”

Margery looked between them, trying to figure out what was going on. Did they have a thing for each other or were they just that good of friends?

“What were you saying, Dahmere? Daddy asked.

“I actually got chicken nuggets yesterday and put them in the freezer.”

Gasping, Margery looked over at Daddy. Was he going to allow her to have some with her mac and cheese?

“Oh, did you? And why would you do that? I know for a fact you don’t eat them,” Daddy replied.

She quickly looked over at Dahmere.
