Minutes after Seer left, Zodak remained in the same spot, forcing himself to consider all the particulars of this job waiting in his old cell. She needed clothes.

He made his way back inside, opening his phone and dialing Trixie.

“Mr. King,” she answered.

“I need clothes for a female.”

“What kind and size?”

He skipped the first part of the question, mentally recalling measures. “She’s…I will send you an image of her.”

“Alright. Type?”

“Type?”

“Of clothes.”

He paused in the hallway, considering what was right. “Long dresses.”

“Fitted or flowing.”

“Flowing.”

“Color?”

He took a moment, considering. “Black,” he finally said. Because the azure portals demanded sharp and absolute expression.

“Undergarments?”

“Yes.”

“Matching?”

Zodak was suddenly irritated with her questions. “You decide the remaining.”

“Yes sir. Is that all?”

“For now.”

“Shall I have it delivered to your apartment?”

“Yes,” he said, not wanting anybody talking to her.

“I’ll have it first thing in the morning.”

“Thank you.”

“Goodnight Mr. King.”

“Goodnight Trixie.”

He made his way to the cell then stopped, detouring to his apartment to get Jinxx. She would meet her and tell him her opinion. Jinxx was one of the best people readers, allowing him to know things about humans without looking. He knew she housed much darkness, but he still wanted Jinxx’s opinion. She had what he consideredgiftedsight.

Ace knocked his buzzing phone onto the floor and leaned off the bed, snatching it up. Darby? He answered quietly, “Hey.”

“Rukem was sleepwalking so I followed him because I remembered you’re not supposed to wake them up,” she whispered. “He’s in this room, attached to a machine and I’m…I’m kind of worried about him, I don’t know what he’s doing or if it’s safe or if I should tell! And he’s naked!”
