"Lily talked to Chicago. He'd been giving you money for my meds for the last year we were together. If you stole money, it wasn't for me. But it was a great guilt trip to make me think this was against your will. That you did it because you were caught doing something for me."

Sighing, Evie finally looks up into his eyes. "He didn't force me, okay? I never stole the money. I knew Chicago would never tell you he was giving me the money for your meds, so I made up the story. My boss was my shoulder to cry on when you disappeared and left me in the dust, and it turned into something more. I thought I was never going to see you again because I thought you fucking died!"

And just like that, everything he ever thought of the woman he used to love vanishes. She was the one person he thought would love him no matter what and never lie to him. Damn it if Lex wasn't right. Looking at her now, all he feels is disgust. How can she make up such a horrendous lie and think it wouldn't come to light? That no one would try and find a way to fuck him over, either legally or by breaking his fucking neck?

"Bodie, don't look at me that way," Evie says and takes a step forward, but he stands and grabs the rest of his clothes. "Bodie, please."

"Leave me alone," he says and steps into his boots, planning to tie them at his bike. "I'd have respected you more if you justadmitted the relationship with that guy was real. That you were upset and heartbroken, and he was a body you found comfort with. Hell, even if you fell in love with him, that would have been better than fucking lying to my face. Trying to make me feel guilty and that it was my fault. Yeah, I pushed you away, but you didn't do this because you got caught stealing for me. For my health. To lie and say someone forced you to do something like this? Go to hell, Evie."

"Bodie!" she cries, but he storms out and finishes putting on his clothes on his way to his bike.

She's only wearing panties, so he has time to lace up his boots before she'll have a chance to run out after him. And when he pulls out of the lot, he doesn't bother to look to see if she ran out after him or not. He doesn't fucking care. The only satisfaction he has is knowing Lex won't let her back into the house when she hears she was right. He hates that he has to tell her.

Zipping through town on his way to Colt and Lex's house, he notices two men roughing up a familiar dark-haired woman. The same woman he thought about as he fucked Evie last night.

"Hey!" Bodie shouts and stops his bike, hopping off and hurrying over to them.

"Get your own girl," one of them shouts. "She's ours."

"You picked the wrong fucking day and the wrong fucking woman," Bodie growls and grabs one of the men, tossing him to the ground behind him.

The second man takes a swing, and he connects his fist to Bodie's jaw. It barely registers, and Bodie just laughs at the fact this man can't throw a punch to save his life. Hell, Jolie could probably take both of these men if she really wanted, but the look on her face tells him this was another one of her plans. To walk into a sketchy part of town.

Swinging his own fist, Bodie knocks the guy to the ground, and he's unconscious. "Guess you're taking a nap," he says and turns to the first one who's jumped up and runs at him. "You're next."

"You can try, but-"

Bodie bends to the side and kicks the man in the stomach, grabs his head by his hair, and slams his face onto his knee before the man can finish his sentence. Blood pours from his nose, and Bodie pushes him to the ground. "Didn't have to try that hard..."

Jolie just shakes her head as he turns and looks at her. "Always being a fucking cowboy," she says and takes off on foot.

"You're welcome!" Bodie calls after her. "Actually, this was pretty therapeutic for me, so whatever."

He climbs back onto his bike and drives to Lex and Colt's house. Walking in the front door, he sighs as Lex and Colt walk out from the kitchen holding coffee mugs. He’d forgotten Colt returned home last night.

"You were right, Lex," Bodie says.

"She usually is. It's really fucking annoying sometimes," Colt says.

Lex walks over and hands him the mug in her hand. "I've been expecting you."

"I'm sorry-"

"Wait, what did you say to her?" Colt asks.

She waves a hand in the air. "Nothing bad. He defended his girl, which, kudos. You were wrong, but kudos."

"Lily said you're forgiving," he says and takes a sip of the coffee she handed him. It's exactly the way he takes it. She really was expecting him to come home and tell her she was right. "I didn't want it to be true."

"I know, Bodie," she says and gives him a sad smile. "But next time, it might be better if you just listen to me."

Laughing, he pulls her into a hug. "Thanks,Mom."

"Oh, God, I'm the mother figure? Shoot me now. I'm not that old."

"I think you're a hot mama, personally," Colt says.

"Please wait until I'm in my room with headphones on before you start showing her just how hot you think she is. You're both cool and all, but I've heard you having sex far too often."
