“Did something happen?” His gaze bounces between the both of us. “You guys should be upstairs, correct?”

“Who’s the girl we paid for?” I ask, cutting to the chase.

Lucian stares at me for a long moment.

“You know I can’t tell you that.” He leans back in his seat and folds his hands in his lap. “We have a confidentiality agreement for a reason.”

“Yeah, well, this is special circumstances,” I say through gritted teeth. “You know we can’t afford for anyone to find out that we’ve come here, let alone find out that we paid to take someone’s virginity.”

“And they won’t.” He shrugs nonchalantly.

Talon takes a single step forward in an effort to try to diffuse the situation before it escalates. “We think the woman might know who we are. She kind of freaked out when Tristan used my nickname, so we need to know if she’s someone we need to… deal with.”

“Basically, we need to know who she is to ensure she doesn’t come back and try to blackmail us for a bigger payday,” I say. “So we need her name.Now.”

Lucian sighs deeply, the passive expression on his face never wavering.

“You guys know the rules,” he simply says again. “We don’t tell the women your names, and we don’t tell you theirs.” He leans forward and shuffles some papers on his desk. “Besides, she didn’t get any money, and she has zero proof it was you… unless you didn’t wear your masks. I’m sure it’s nothing.”

“She’s not a risk I’m willing to take,” I hiss.

Frustration bubbles underneath my skin. We aren’t going to get anywhere with Lucian. His confidentiality agreement is a blessing and a curse. It’s a blessing when it works for us, but it has quickly turned into a pain in the ass when we need information. I run a frustrated hand through my dark hair as I think.

Talon glances over at me, his eyes seeming to question what to do next. Then, a thought comes to me.

“Negotiate a new deal with her then,” I say. I can feel Talon’s confused gaze on me, but I keep my eyes trained on Lucian.

He raises an eyebrow as he regards me. “What makes you think she’ll want to do this again? Didn’t she use her safe word?”

“She only used it when we were trying to get her to take her mask off,” I mutter. “Renegotiate a deal with her and tell her we’ll pay her double the amount she would’ve made today for two hours.” I suck in a breath. “But this time, we do it downstairs.”

No one says anything for a while. There are all kinds of stories that surround this place, and the majority of them involve the lower level of the club.

The level that’s known simply asHell.

The upper level, where we originally were, isHeaven. Everything on that floor of the club is light and consensual, with rooms to play out every kink under the sun. But Hell…that’sdifferent. Dark. Dangerous.

There are no limits, no rules, and no safe words when you go down there. There’s a joke among members that Hell is where the damned go to play. There are people who’ve gone down there and have never been heard from again, people fulfilling their darkest, most violent fantasies on both willing… andunwillingpartners.

To most people, Hell is a frightening place, but I know it’s the only place we’ll get the information we’re after.

“She’ll never agree to that,” Lucian finally says with a frown. “If she used her safe word in Heaven, why the hell do you think she’s going to let you take her down to Hell?”

“You’ll be surprised what the desperate will do for money.” I smirk.

Talon rubs the back of his neck. “Can you give us a minute, Lucian?”

He grabs my arm and pulls me out of the office, closing the door behind him when we step out into the hallway.

“Are you sure about this? With the way she lost her shit earlier, I don’t think she’ll even consider another deal—especiallyone down there.”

My brow creases in confusion. “What do you mean, am I sure? You see that Lucian isn’t going to give us what we’re asking for, so we have to take another route to get to the truth.”

Talon releases a deep breath, his eyes sweeping the hallway before they settle on me again. “This isHellwe’re talking about. We know the shit that goes on down there. You think scaring her is gonna help?”

“We’re not scaring her.” I release a deep breath. “Two hours downstairs with no safe word. Enough time so we can take her mask off and figure out who she is.”

“And what if Lucian refuses to do that?”
