“Hey.” Tilting her chin back with his fingers underneath her jaw, he stared at her for a split second before leaning down and giving her the same treatment that Will had given Winter just moments before.

Jazz kissed him back without an ounce of hesitation despite her surprise. By the time he pulled away, she was dazed and breathless.

“You weren’t at my house this morning,” he murmured, still hovering next to her chair.

She blinked. He sounded a little hurt by the fact that she’d been gone when he got home. “I had some stuff to do this morning and since you were still gone, I figured it was time to go. I didn’t want to be a bother after the night you had.”

Leo shook his head. “Sugar, the first thing you need to realize is that you wouldn’t have been a bother. I wanted you there. I hurried home thinking that you were going to be all snuggled up on my bed wearing the T-shirt I gave you. Instead, I found the shirt folded up and no note in sight.”

“I didn’t know it would be an issue….” Jazz wasn’t sure what to say right now.

“It’s not your fault, sugar. It’s mine for not making myself clear. I’ll do better,” Leo said, sliding into the chair at her side. He picked up his menu with one hand and pat the top of her thigh with his other.

She looked across the table at Winter and Will but they were no help. Her best friend just smiled while Will shrugged.

What the fuck had she gotten herself into?

Chapter 12

“Those suites are nice. I stayed there a couple nights when I was looking for a place,” Leo said, his attention only partially tuned into the conversation going on at the table. The distraction sitting next to him held the majority of his focus in her soft little hands—and she was oblivious to it.

“I just didn’t want to stay if Will wasn’t with me,” Winter replied, taking a large sip of her beer.

“Babe, I wish you would have at least taken advantage of the hot tub,” her fiancé argued, as he took a few more nachos from the pile in the center of the table.

“Meh, it wouldn’t have been fun all alone.” Winter sighed, her disappointment evident.

Will leaned over to give her a kiss, prompting Leo to look away at the same time Jazz was looking over at him.

He smiled when their eyes met. This was the first time since he’d sat down that she’d looked directly at him.

“Stop that.” Jazz narrowed her eyes on him.

“Stop what?” he asked, leaning in closer. She was annoyed with him now, but it was preferable to the silent treatment he’d been getting so far. He could tell he’d knocked her off kilter earlier, but he wasn’t going to make it easy for her to ignore him. Not when he was smiling, winking, and touching her as much as he possibly could without overdoing it.

“All of that.” She waved her hand in the air at him, her lips pursed.

“All of what?” he asked innocently.

“The dimple, the sexy smile, and the bedroom eyes,” she hissed, her eyes darting to their friends where they sat making googly eyes at each other.

“Sugar, what you are seeing is the normal me.” Raising his hands, Leo sat back as if he were surrendering. He’d might have turned up the charm a little but around her, but he couldn’t help it. She brought it out in him. Especially when he could clearly see the effect he was having on her curvy little body.

Her cheeks were pink, her nipples were poking at the material of her shirt, and every now and then he could hear a breathless little gasp come from her lush lips. His body was just responding to that.

“Well tone that shit down,” she snapped, her pointer finger emphasizing what she was saying with a hard jab at the table.

“And why is that?”

“Because I can’t think when you look like that,” she waved at him again, “and it gets worse when you focus that look on me. It’s making me crazy.”

“If you aren’t used to my kind of looks, then you haven’t been around the right men, sugar.” Leo reached over and covered her hand. He loved the fact that he could get her this flustered with just a bit of flirting and inuendo. She was an alluring mixture of innocence and wickedness that he was quickly becoming addicted to. “What are your plans for the rest of the day?”

She sat silent for a moment, obviously confused at the abrupt change of subject.

“I’m going to the station to drop off some cookies for the guys. Why?”

Leo nodded. He remembered hearing something about that. “Ahhh…these must be the cookies that you were talking about when we got here?”
