“I don’t bite.”

“That’s too bad.”

I chuckled. “I don’t know what that means, exactly, but I have a vivid imagination. But you should just try it out. It’s like resting on a cloud.”

He didn’t hesitate. Instead, he hurled himself over me and landed on the other side, on his back. I turned my head to face him and waited for his reaction.

“You’re right. It’s better than my bed.”

“You might have to sleep here, instead.”

“What are you suggesting?”

“Not what you’re thinking. I don’t mix business with pleasure.”

He slid his arm under his head, as he rolled on his side to face me. “Technically, this business doesn’t start until the kids are in your care, and that won’t happen for another two hours.”

I pondered his statement for a moment and thought about how delicious it would be to have sex with Kasey right here on this bed, right now.

But then I remembered the promise I’d made to myself.

No sex with these guys. This was strictly business.

Still…

“So, if I’m understanding you, pleasure is up for grabs for a couple more hours.”

I also rolled on my side and bent an arm to support my head. We were now only inches apart. I felt every beat of my heart. I was quickly becoming so turned on that stopping this might be impossible.

“Technically speaking… yes,” he said, his voice just above a whisper.

Damn, but the man was so good looking, he bordered on perfection.

“Actually, all we’d be doing was testing out this amazing bed. Nothing would change, and I’d still be the nanny once the kids came home. Right?”

“Absolutely,” he said, grinning, as we drifted closer together.

As if on cue, one of the guys who’d helped me move, walked into the room carrying a box and rolling one of my large suitcases behind him. “I think these might go in here.”

I jumped at the sound of his voice and nearly fell backwards off the bed. If it hadn’t been for Kasey reaching out and grabbing my arm, I most certainly would have slipped right off on my ass.

“Thanks, um… yes. Yes, those go in here. All the suitcases do,” I told him, and he followed my orders. “Along with the violin case. Thanks.”

The moving guy parked the suitcases near the door, then placed my violin case down on the empty dresser. He’d loaded that into the backseat of my car, along with my laptop bag, which he also brought in and placed on the small desk.

Kasey rolled out of bed then, and so did I. We both stood there, staring at the guy as if we didn’t know our next move and needed someone to tell us.

“You play the violin?” Kasey asked.

“Not so much anymore, but I like having it around in case the mood hits me,” I told him.

“Love to hear you play sometime,” he said. “I’d always admired anyone who could play that thing. Seems impossible to me.”

“A lot of hours of practice,” I told him. “Which I haven’t done in a couple of years. I’m rusty, so playing for someone might be too embarrassing.”

“Whatever you think, but I’d still like to hear you play.”

“Maybe,” I told him with absolutely no intention of ever playing for anyone.
