My teeth clenched together in anger, and my nostrils flared. I wanted to go back in there and tell Dylan Stark where to shove it. To let out all my rage on him and his lover, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Instead, I bottled it up inside, wiped my tears away, and took a deep breath.

My eyes closed as I let the air swoop inside and fill my lungs full. It escaped through my nose and I opened my eyes. I turned away from this disaster and knew exactly what I needed to do. I needed to get plastered, and the bar was on the main floor. Everything about this day needed to be coated with hard liquor and I needed a whiskey on the rocks, stat.

My heels hit the floor, and I made it to the elevator. It took me straight to the main floor with no stops, and I was thankful for that. I didn’t need any more interference after what happened. My future was told, and I was right where I needed to be with a glass of whiskey at my fingertips.

“Bottoms up...” I mumbled as I held the glass to my lips and the ice hit them with the smooth liquid running down my throat.

It was heavy, but not any heavier than my bitter heart. It pounded loudly with anger in my chest, and I wanted more than anything to make it stop. But I didn’t know how.

Dylan had hurt me in the worst way possible and all I felt was revenge. I wanted sweet justice for all the times he snuck around behind my back. All those times, my senses tingled, and I knew he kept something from me. But I never imagined it could be this bad.

He was right, though. This secret he kept was huge. And it could destroy everything.

In a way, I didn’t care. This could be my revenge to get back at him for everything he had done to me. But it would destroy Daxon.

His career was everything to him. His company was his life. And now I know why.

Could I put him through that misery?

Could I make him relive all the pain he’d locked away for years?

I groaned as my head hit the table, and the server brought me more drinks. More liquid courage to help me coat my bitterness and keep me from doing the unthinkable. It kept me from revealing the truth.

I stood up from my seat and chugged back the rest of my drink. It slammed back onto the table as I stumbled towards the bar and the anger hit me again. I just wanted to forget.

“H-hit me again, b-bartender...” I stammered in a drunken state and stumbled towards the bar.

Suddenly, arms wrapped around me, and I fell back against a solid chest. The smell of aftershave filled my nose, and I turned around, but expected to see Dylan. Instead, I stared up into a stranger's eyes and saw two of him. My world spun out of control. I let out a soft giggle and slapped my hand against his chest.

“L-listen, buddy, I’m just trying to get another drink.” I said, as I raised an eyebrow and pushed against him.

“Woah, easy, sweetheart. I think you’ve had enough to drink.” He said as he ran his hands down my sides and pulled me closer. “Why don’t we take this party back to my room?”

He wouldn’t let go of me, and his flirty gesture made me irritated. He smirked a gracious smile, but I wasn’t up for a one-night stand. Especially not with him. He dared me with tease, but I wasn’t into it. He just wasn’t for me.

“J-just let me go, so I can get back to drowning my sorrows, okay?” I pleaded with him. “It’s been a long day.”

“Oh, ya?” He groaned as he thrust his cock against my thigh and squeezed my ass. “I know what else is long and hard.”

“Ew, gross!” I cried out in protest. “Let me go, you creep!”

He chuckled, as I was no match for him in my drunken stupor and my hands thrashed against his chest. At least, I thought they did, but everything wouldn’t stop moving. I tried to pull away from him, but my face kept falling against his shoulder. I just couldn’t stay upright and the booze hit me harder than I expected.

“Come on, baby, we are going to have a good time.” He said as I felt my heels move and follow in the direction he led, but I had no choice.

“I’m not interested! Now, let me go!” I pleaded with resistance.

Suddenly, his arms unwrap themselves from around me and I stumble up against the bar. The solid exterior held me up, and I looked over at the persistent asshole. But my fuzzy vision fixed itself and I saw two men.

One held up with his feet off the ground and the other in charge, with his powerful hands wrapped around the other man’s collar. The asshole trying to take advantage of me was cowering at the hands of Dylan’s father. But he was mad, very mad indeed.

“I believe the young lady told you she’s not interested.” Daxon said firmly through clenched teeth. “Do I need to bite off your ear and serve it to her on a platter so you can hear her better?”

“N-no, way man...” The stranger mumbled with fright and shook his head.

“Good, now fuck off.” Daxon said as he threw him to the floor like he was a piece of shit and the guy peered up at him with fright.

The man got to his knees, but fell back onto the floor. Daxon’s icy, stony stare didn’t waver as the man stumbled to his feet in a hurry and scurried away. He left and didn’t look back.
