“Y-you didn’t need to do that...” I stammered as the liquor took hold again and I stumbled in his direction. “I could’ve handled him.”

But I landed in his arms once again.

His big, brawny and extremely fit arms.

“It sure didn’t appear that way, princess.” He breathed as he peered down at me and raised an eyebrow.

I squeezed his muscular arms with my hands and sighed. “You must work out every day. You’ve got the arms of a god.”

He let out a chuckle. “Have you been drinking, young lady?”

I looked up at him with a matter-of-fact face, but it must’ve been silly. His face lit up with the most delicious grin and I could eat him up. I’d savor his taste and make it last a lifetime.

“Maybe just a teeny tiny bit?” I whispered and touched his hair. “How do you get your hair so perfect? The ladies must love it.”

He shook his head and grinned. “Years of practice, my princess.”

“Oh, I’m your princess now? Are you going to carry me away to my castle and lock me up inside?” I asked with tease.

“Something like that...” He mumbled and without hesitation lifted me into his arms.

“Oh!” I shouted out with surprise.

“Let’s get you back to your room.” Daxon breathed as he led the way, and I couldn’t escape his embrace. “You’ve been out past your bedtime, young lady.”

Panic overtook me as I remembered what got me here and why I was so drunk. I didn’t want to go back to my room. I couldn’t stand the sight of seeing them together again. And better yet, Daxon couldn’t find out the truth.

“U-um... Wait!” I blurted out.

Daxon stopped in his tracks and didn’t move a muscle. He peered down at me with questions and couldn’t figure me out. My mind reeled, and I had to come up with an explanation. Fast.

“I don’t want to go back to my room,” I said.

“And why would that be?” Daxon asked as his eyebrows narrowed together and he was curious.

“Because I don’t want Dylan to see me in this state. He’ll be upset with me for making such a fool out of myself.” I lied and hoped he bought it.

He blinked repeatedly, lost in thought, and I wished I could read his brilliant mind. The man I once idolized, and I was supposed to hate. But hate seemed to slip away and turn into something I didn’t understand.

“Fine...” He growled with acceptance, but continued forward. “You will come back to my room and I don’t want any argument about it.”

I went to protest, but clamped my mouth shut. He wouldn’t back down on his decision, and it was final. Daddy was in charge, and I let him carry me to his presidential suite. The most expensive suite in the entire hotel. I was going to spend the night with the richest man in the building.

My future father-in-law to be.
