“Well someone should use it. Don’t you think?”

For a second, I was certain he was going to stomp his foot. Instead, he sat down in a chair across from me.

“What is this all about? Everyone else has gone home for the fucking day. I have dinner plans.”

My shoes made a thud as I dropped them to the floor.

“Strange how you seem to have so little interest in the company. Why even show up? You come for events, news releases, all the pretty boy things. But when it comes to getting your hands in the muck of it all, you disappear.”

I watched his knuckles whiten as he gripped the chair.

“I have plans, brother. I was doing what you all wanted. You, dad. Marry that Rossi bitch and take over. Well, she fucking ruined that, didn’t she?”

Her name on his lips sent my fucking blood pressure through the roof. But I wasn’t brash. Yet.

“What did you do, Dorian?”

He shrugged.

“Found other ways to get what was mine.”

I glared.

“Dorian, did you ever think that I had it fucking handled, and you just fucked everything up?”

His jaw slackened and then he seemed to remember his pretty boy composure.

“Whatever. You cleaning out the board was a good idea. Yeah. Look at little me knowing what you are doing.”

My head felt like I’d slammed it against the desk.

“What do you think you know?”

He shrugged.

“I know you’ve been over there a lot, and it’s clear why. Brother, there are a few too many missing bodies though. You should watch yourself.”

“And what about this uncle?” I asked. So far, the subject of Emilee hadn’t come up even if he noticed my time over there.

“Ah. Well, it looks like my little jack-in-the-box has popped his top. Shame, it was so much more fun with him hidden. Well, seems like he’s been wronged. Just like father. He’ll help us exact our revenge.”

I kept the rage locked up inside that little box that allowed me to be whatever this world needed. But right now?

“He has no claim on Rossi Holdings. What the fuck do you think you’re doing? Fucking hell, Dorian. Stop. Just once, stop. This is when you decide to help? Damn it, you shit.”

My brother inspected his nails for fuck's sake.

“I know that, brother. Just like you don’t have any claims on anything over there. You do your dismantling your way and we will do ours.”

“Dorian, what the fuck are you talking about? Just leave this to the big kids.”

The more I looked at him, the more I realized that he looked different.

“Have you stopped drinking?”

I swear we looked nothing alike. He was more my mother I supposed. Light hair, light skin, and dumb as a damn box of rocks. But maybe that last part was wrong.

“Roman, I don’t have to drink. I chose to. Now that I have this little hobby, things aren’t so boring.”
