“Don’t,” I blurted.“Don’t say it,” I begged.

He looked down at mewith glittering eyes and nodded his head before he leaned back downto my neck and continued his exploration.

“I won’t say ituntil you’re ready,Roja,” he murmured against me. “But,don’t ever doubt that I do feel it. Every time I look at you. Everytime I think of you. I can’t help but feel any other way,” heconfessed.

My breath shudderedout of me but I stayed silent. I leaned into him as he continuedhis exploration. He kissed and licked his way up from my shoulder. My hands were still caught above my head by his as that skilledmouth traveled up my arm, lingering on my scar before moving on tomy fingers. He kissed each tip before moving back down, caressingmy flesh as he moved. When he made it to my inner arm close to theapex, I giggled and flinched.

He looked at mesideways as he held me firmly. I saw the mischievous gleam in hiseyes before he ran his tongue along the sensitive spot. I giggledfiercely as the tickling sensation intensified.

“Damon, stop!” Iscreeched as I twisted in his hold.

His boom of laughterrang out as he continued his torture. Releasing his hold on me, heused his fingers to tickle me then. I sucked in harsh breath afterharsh breath as I wailed with laughter.

“What about thisspot?” he teased. He shoved his face back in the crook of my neckand tickled my collarbone with his chin. I screeched louder as Igiggled madly. I could feel his smile against my skin as hemurmured. “I could listen to that all day.”

My phone’s shrilltone rang out, squelching our laughs. Damon rolled off me andhanded me my phone from the nightstand. Lindsey’s sunny smileshined from the screen. I grinned at him one last time before Iswiped my thumb across the screen.

“Hey, Lyns, let meca—” I started when Linsey’s muffled voicecame over the line. I sat up and threw the blanket from my legs asI listened as best I could.

“Ben, stop!”She sounded like she was choking. My blood ran cold.

“Lindsey?” Paniclaced my voice. Damon sat up and looked at me, concern written onhis brow.

“Stop, I’m gonna besick,” her muffled voice sounded so far away.

I stood in a rushand put my phone on speaker before throwing it on the bed. I raninto my closet and hastily put on shorts and a t-shirt. I could seeDamon rush to put his jeans on.

I ran back to mybed, picked up the phone, and ran for the door with a very worriedDamon hot on my heels.

“Where are wegoing?” he asked calmly.

“Lindsey’s introuble,” was all the explanation I offered.

That’s when the linewent dead on me and I panicked. I grabbed my keys as dread flaredto the surface and bolted out the door.

“Fuck!” Iexclaimed.

I was blocked in byDamon’s car. Before I could tell him to move it, he ran ahead of meand opened his passenger door for me to climb in before he ambledinto the driver’s seat.

He looked at me ashe hastily started the car. “Where, Jill?”

ChapterTwenty-One

Damon swerved in andout of traffic lanes like a professional as we raced to the campus.I tried to get Lindsey back on the phone for what felt like thefiftieth time. When I was sent to voicemail I almost threw my phoneagainst the windshield.

“Goddamnit!” Iexclaimed in frustration.

“Jill, I need you tocalm down and tell me where I’m going,” Damon’s composed voiceconsoled me.

I was lucky he wasso calm under intense circumstances. His career in law enforcementassured that. I, on the other hand, was having a hard time keepingmy shit together.

“I told you, I can’tfucking remember what frat house she said she would be at tonight.”I ran a frustrated hand through my wild hair. I scrunched my eyesclosed as I tried to remember what Lyns had said earlier in theday. “Alpha something … fuck!” I blurted.

Damon glanced overat me before he squeezed my thigh reassuringly. “Hey, she’s goingto be okay. We don’t even know what’s happening. This could all bea big misunderstanding,” he tried.

I scowled at him.“You don’t know that,” I grumbled. Then it hit me. “Kate!” Ishouted.

I pulled up hercontact and hit “call.” Kate would remember where Lindsey was goingtonight. Why didn’t I think of her sooner?
